This year is completely different from all the other years I have taught my kids.
Instead of 4....I now teach only the 2 youngest...as the older are off on their other learning adventures.
It seems so strange, and yet...I've embraced it as another season of my life. And theirs.
Thankfully, these 2 get along amazingly.
For sure, there are still brawls on the front lawn - and arguments over whose turn it is for chores-
but the friendship between these 2 is golden.
I'm trying to capture every moment with the two of them....as sooner than later,
I won't have them at home either.

how sweet are they?! hang on tight, dawn. they'll grow too fast, i'm sure...
Looks like our 2 Arizona grandsons that are in first grade and kindergarten. They are soooo close, both in age and in friendship.
The sibling bond is strong! Fantastic shots!
Such a great life!!
they are just too cute dawn, you have captured their spirits well!!
my boys are less then one year apart, thick as theives, best friends forever!!
the empty nest isn't so bad!!
You are lucky to have such a close relationship with your kids, even though the number at home has been halved. They will always remember these times, as will you.
I absolutely LOVED this! I have two boys, 4 and 6, and they are so close. They are the best of friends, most of the time (ha ha) and I would wholeheartedly agree that being a brother is sometimes better than being a superhero!
It is so true, my last two enjoy being with each other so much, never being separated until the oldest of the two got a job. Now doing school with the youngest has been hard, but now, I really enjoy it.
Though it just seems easier with two.
But it is all about rolling with the punches, very nice pictures. I tell myself, to not look back but keep looking at the joy that lies ahead.
It works most of the time.
Love the photos - these are precious moments and memories!
They grow up way too fast, don't they?!
Yes, times do change. They seem full of energy. You must be super patient/
:) loved hearing about your homeschool adventures.
I love your family...great photos...
Such handsome boys! They grow up so fast!
They seem to really get along well ...
AAAHHHHH!!!!
Time moves much too quickly for me - something I only began to appreciate after we had our kids.
Thankfully, you've always managed to embrace that reality. It's clear how much you treasure the time we've been given. We know it in the spirit of your words and images. More importantly, they know it, too.
Just beautiful, Dawn.
A wonderful post. I was a kid when my brother was drafted to The Vietnam War. I remember writing him a letter asking for advice to fix a toy that I had. He answered me from such a horrific environment as if we were in the same room. Today, he is the brother that is my Hero!
♥♥♥
you my dear are such a superhero!
you touch souls
open hearts....
you are a treasure
love and light
It is great when they get along! Your definitely right about kids growing up to fast!! We have to enjoy every minute we can with them:)

The precious time of having young ones in the home passes way to quickly. Enjoy every moment with them.
Beautiful pix and sentiments, Dawn. You are blessed.
Beautiful thoughts to share today. The kids in my family were spread out so we didn't miss the lose of another, but did stay good friends.I miss having children around now that they flew the coop, and remember some good times shared.Headed out to take my daughter to lunch 120 miles away today.
That's wonderful.
The day will come when they will be so glad that you took these photos. And so will you.
Awweh, you can just see how much they care about each other! Bless them, it'll be hard for you to let them go! Just like it is with your eldest ones. Some lovely shots there!
That first photo is wonderful. Great pics of the two brothers who are best friends.
Very handsome boys. Watching them head out on their own is bitter - sweet.
wonderful captures! my two boys are all grown up, so these shots make me nostalgic.
*sniff*
You are making the most of the time you have with each of you kids Dawn. That is the absolute best you can do.
You have some great kids! You're smart to spend that time with them now. You'll never regret it.
Perfectly captured! My Brother and I almost killed each other as kids--Now we are closer than ever!!!!

What precious shots - such golden moments of friendship that I'm sure they will remember and treasure.
How beautiful are your children! I hope to remain good brothers and you are very happy with them.
I really like your blog ... the photos are expectaculares!

Oh Dawn, that first picture is just stunning, I would have that blown up and put on canvas! When siblings are happy and love each other (as is obvious in these photos) it's a sign of great parenting! Bless you all.
Inspiring photos Dawn.
Our crew does quite a bit of balancing on the rocks around streams--as your son is doing in the one shot.
Great memories to cherish.
I can't begin to tell you the misery my older brothers put me through. They once sold me to their friends as a slave... you should take some credit for your boys' relationship, no doubt!
Oh Dawn you are such an amazing Mother teaching your kids at home they are so lucky to have a smart Mom like you.
I have six brothers and four sisters and I loved having all those special moments together even the fighting makes for great memories now. I wish we had been able to capture them on film.
Don't worry they always come home. B
sibling love is so special.....these are great shots of how much they love each other !
Yes - savour every moment because too soon the moments slip away.
Not sure if you've heard this before but it captures the essence of time.
You get a lot of the credit for their relationship. It doesn't always work out like that. There were 4 brothers in my family and it was every man (or boy) for themselves. I'm sure it was because of the environment.
