I opened my eyes the other morning and was greeted with this sight through my bedroom patio door:
(Luckily I had my camera right there....I took it while still in bed:D)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And then in passing the front window last night,
I grabbed up my camera to shoot this setting scene.
(Sounds as though I walk around 24/7 with my camera. Even indoors.)
It got me to thinking of what is sandwiched during the day, between these 2 pictures.
What am I filling the in~between hours with?
Which then led me to think on this quote I read last week:
I will wake up every morning
determined to go to bed
with satisfaction.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think it's all a personal thing of what leads us to that satisfaction.
For me,
it's when I unwrap myself from my own thoughts and self,
and focus outwardly ~on those around me.
I need to do that more...
for
satisfaction has been lacking over here in my neck of the woods.
~~~~~~~
~Wishing you all a wonderful middle-of-the-week day~
I like this thought! What do we do between the two beautiful photos...It gives me something to ponder!
Pretty pictures! Have a Merry Christmas-
Patrice
Gorgeous! That first one has awesome layers of color!
Awesome and very insightful. You always make me think. Merry Christmas Dawn.
Doesn't everyone sleep with their camera? :) B
That is a good reminder. I like how you said that and with the pictures there was I imagine lots of life going on in between. I need to write down that quote. Sometimes I don't go to bed with satisfaction. I think sometimes I go to bed sad because I didn't get my to do list finished instead of being satisfied that I got something done period.That is a nice reminder.
Wow, absolutely beautiful, both photos. I'm going to have to remember that quote.
really beautiful, dawn! i hope you spend your days in between in a happy way! :)
absolutley amazing photos...
Wow, those are gorgeous shots Dawn! Really cool you get to wake up to those kind of views. Now fill the time in between the beautiful views with things equally as beautiful and things would be perfect. Then what?
Man, you get great sunrises and sunsets up there, Dawn. Reanalyze your days, Dawn. I'll bet there is much more satisfaction than appears at first. We don't all write a hit song or a great novel every day. Smaller stuff will satisfy us if we let it.
Just wonderful views to begin and end one's day!
A lovely catch
Beautiful and well said!
Amazing layers of light ...
Definitely! "Unwrap myself from my own thoughts and self... " That is what I try to do, but seem to fail miserably at! A sweet reminder that we're all in it together. Thanks for that, Dawn. xoxo
Such beautiful colour in your skies and in your outlook. Beautiful.
Eh oui, some great sentiments there, and what amazing colours in the first pic! I've been praying just for a bit of sun in my neck of the woods. Et voila, there it is. ... Et voila, gone again. In theory I can see Mont Blanc from my window. In theory.
Wow - such fabulous shots!
What great pictures! May you find lots of satisfaction in your day today!
Amazing photos! I hope you and all the family have a lovely Christmas:)
Beautiful photos and a great thought... As to carrying a camera around with you. I always try to have a camera with me, even if it's a small one in my pocket. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Wow! What a great view from your bed! :)
Great color and great words.
And why do I find myself wondering why you keep a camera by the bed... But what a great morning to wake up to!
Wonderful way to see the day both in photos and thoughts!
Dawn these are magnificent shots, now how could anybody in this whole wide world not wake up on a positive note when this is what they see first thing when they open their eyes? I'm really missing the country, maybe a quick trip to the farm after Christmas before I head out to Australia is in order.
I love your positivity, you're so inspiring!
Have a wonderful Christmas, it's time to head out and buy the final groceries... unlike the small town stores, this is not an adventure which I fully embrace. I love the smaller towns, everybody knows everybody, there's always someone to chat with as you shop and the Christmas spirit is really in the air. Well you know what, I'm going to put that Christmas spirit into my grocery shopping and I'm going to have a ton of fun... yup, that's just what I'm going to do!
Enjoy your day!
Beautiful... lucky you had your camera handy :-)
Just look at the vibrant natural color. Amazing. Happy Holidays, my friend!
What beautiful colors to wake up to. I love it.
Oh what stunning colours - in the morning *and* evening. Wow! That is some gift you have, to be given a display by the great Artist Himself - one to wake up to and the other to sleep to.
And yes, sometimes we just need to stop, count our blessings and see how well off... how satisfied... we really ought to be.
Gorgeous post :)
Your post reminded me of another saying. The saying is that the dates on a tombstone are not important but the dash is the most important thing. It's what you do between those years that count the most.
You bring up a good point; satisfaction comes from within...NO thing or person can give that to us, we must seek it within ourselves...lovely post Dawn!
What beautiful sunrises and sunsets you have there in your part of the world! Contentment is a good thing.
Great views and thoughts. Have a wonderful Christmas!
