When I feel perfectionism creeping in, I like to think about all the imperfect people God used in the Bible to accomplish his plans. Moses stuttered and complained, David committed adultery and murder, Peter lied about knowing Jesus...
Oh my Dawn, I was just having this conversation with another blogger about how it's so confining to be a perfectionist: UGH!!! I know and hear what you are saying in my mind, but in my heart the concept is totally foreign~ I pray someday the two of them will meet!
I try really hard at not being a perfectionist. But then I snap and I kill myself trying to get everything back to the perfect state. I knew I had a problem when my kids were small and I would put them down for a nap and crawl around with a rag and cleaner to clean the base boards. :) I mean really, who notices but me. I need though to be a bunch more perfectionistic about my flowerbeds. My spell checker doesn't think that is a word, but I am leaving it.
WHEW, thank goodness for this, I'm not at all aligned, nor perfect I've come to realize, but now at least I know that I have the chance to still be beautiful! ;-)
Ah, I know whereof you speak. I've been combating that 'perfectionism' gene all my life - it can be a blessing and a curse. Very good thought for today - thanks for the reminder.
(ps - there are no spelling mistakes here, right ?)

So very true, Dawn. It's our flaws that make us.
What a boring world it would be. :)
It's an artist's minor stereotypical "flaws" peculiar to that individual's work that create that artist's style.

I agree. I am not into perfectionism. I like things a little off, more natural I guess.
Amen to that! (Although I have to tell it to myself all the time!) ;)

You are a wise woman Dawn, if everything were aligned and in order then nothing would be perfect in my opinion :)

Nice one.
I have my way of doing things, but know many would find them imperfect.I would be lost in my quests if everything I looked at were the same.
beauty is in the brokenness
love and light
I Agree!!!
So very true !!! It's what gives us our character :)
A lot of beauty can be found in imperfection.
Ohhhh. True statement. If only I could get that into my brain!!! Thanks for the reminder! :)
