The Girl and her Horse

This horse has been a handful since my daughter bought her a few years back.

She's had her moments of stubbornness and just plain stupidity.
She's broken ribs from throwing a full-grown man off her back,
jumped fences,
and ran through fields which are not ours.

Sometimes 1 person can look through all those ridiculous moments and see potential.
They can find the good which is there- but isn't be seen by others..

Almost 3 years to the day of being shunned by the rest of us as "unrideable"....my daughter rides her western, English, and bareback. Shes' currently teaching her to run barrels and jump, (within the confines of the corral).

Makes you wonder just what potential lies in all of us.
To learn. To grow. To be who we were supposed to be.
And It OH SO helps to have someone in our lives who can see it....even when we can't.

We all benefit from, and need, discipline. Good for your daughter -- this is a beautiful horse. I'm glad she is taking good care of it.

A little faith and a lot of determination can take you amazing places.

Maybe she's just resigned to the fact that your daughter's never going to leave her in peace. Compliance is the path of least resistance and all that.

I haven't been on a horse for over 5 years. Might have to go tame one in London:-)

She is a beautiful horse. So glad your daughter saw beneath her bad behavior, sometimes that is all it takes, someone to see what we can be rather than who we are. Great Post!

Good for her! They must have a special relationship. I think they must understand each other.

Beautiful horse! I hear horses can be stubborn. My friend tells me stories about his neighbors horse running under trees to knock him off. SO cool your daughter broke through the stubbornness.

Gorgeous horse. Your daughter must be very gifted to have done so well with a difficult horse.

Wow what a powerful message. You are always right on Dawn. I have been lucky enough to have My Hero a man who has always believed in me even when I did not believe in myself hence the name.
Your daughter is a very brave woman. She and the horse are beautiful.
I believe you can do anything just from reading your posts I think she gets those traits from her Mom. B

I limped for a week last summer trying to reprogram a pony. This is a beautiful one. The trick is getting back on as soon as possible and knowing what they will try.

I really believe that "potential" is humans, dogs, horses etc really is there...if someone will spend the time its amazing to see the things that can happen!

so true, it's the only thing we all need is just one person to believe in us. I see mom's great character has been passed down.
