People Watch

I'm a People Watcher.

More so when someone needs to shop. (I don't like shopping.)

Or when we're at an Amusement Park. (I am not a fan of rides.)

So when the kiddos were riding the Roller coaster for the 3rd time,
I sat on a bench..... and people watched.
~~~
People are fascinating.
And interesting.
And sweet and comical....all rolled into one.
I saw these 2 carrying this massive stuffed Penguin around the park all afternoon.
I had to take a photo.
As they walked by I heard one muttering...
"Grand kids!
Win prizes like this at the games and get us to carry it around all day!".
Priceless.
At the Beach last week coming in from a swim, I happened to notice a tiny car.
With a canoe strapped to the top.
It parked and out piled 1,2,3,4,5,.....6! people.
Looked as though dad had thought it would be fun to canoe with his boys for 20 minutes in the beautiful summer evening.
After about 15 minutes of designating seating for all the boys, he carefully (and cautiously) climbed into the ever-lowering canoe, and off they paddled.
Taking on quite a bit of water as they sat so low.
Priceless.
Then across the way at the next table was a young couple.
I guess they threw caution to the wind that night- in a few areas.
They broke the "No Dog" Beach rule,
the "No Alcohol" Beach rule,
and the young man broke the (unwritten but common sense) Beach rule about swimwear.
(Maybe dont' ask about that one,  but use imagination...a bit.)
After leaving their empty and full  beer cans strewn...they took off for a swim.
Wise?
At least they left the dog tied up to guard the rest of their beer.
There were several more "situations"....which I dare not show.
And even some I dared not photograph.
People are wonderful.
To watch.
And then all this people watching makes me wonder....
Who is sitting on a bench out there
- watching me?
I wonder the same thing all of the time, especially when I fall down. :)
I'm not a fan of the big roller coasters. I do like to people watch, though. The dog photo made me laugh! And I really like the gull on the bench - cool shot!
My dad was an expert people-watcher and did so when accompanying my mom on shopping trips. :)
People watching is fun. I especially get a kick out of old couples bickering.
Love the penguin pictures. They were probably tired of carrying that thing around all day.
The penguin is priceless - or a dust gatherer!
I think people watching is wildly entertaining as well.
And change the penguin pic to a grandpa and that'll be me in a few years.
I love people watching too! The two ladies carrying the huge penguin was hilarious. No doubt someone was watching you too!
What a great post...clever and fun and funky! You have a great eye. The two women carrying penguin is priceless and the canoe is just funny and that dog - well, I'd not try to swipe any beer from the nekkid folks!
Eww. Swimwear rule. Thanks for the image.
I agree that people watching is fascinating. I have noticed one overwhelming fact about crowds of people---something that has radically changed over the past 30 years or so---people today are obese, especially in the US. It is shocking.
hehehe... i liked the humor touch in your writeup, esp. the part of stuffed Penguin and beach rule. Nice people watching with you :)
Love the last shot dawn.
Indeed! People are watching you. Maybe they've noticed all the rules we're breaking! :D I know I'd love to break that unwritten one...
LOL fantastic shots and people watching, sure why not? I used to be able to do this for hours on end, now some of them I want to venture inside of their heads and see what makes people do what they do. It can be a dangerous journey though, don't try this at home or alone! lol Have a fantastic weekend Dawn and thanks for the smiles on this end! I love the bird at the end of your post!
the sign said "no dogs on the beach"? keeping him on a table seems like one way around that, don't you think? ;o)
You need to conquer that fear of flying and get yourself to somewhere like London (we'll organise a temporary break from rioting, looting and burning down shops while you're here). A lot of people to watch somewhere like this!
I used to have this guy friend who would take me to the mall and we would pick a bench or a couch and watch people all night. That's it. Just people watch. It was so much fun. Very entertaining.
Great shots!
I like to people (and animal) watch also. That is the ONLY reason I like airports and shopping malls.
oh I do too, and this is very cool! I especially enjoy how man's best friend will always go just to the end of their leash and in this case the best view too!
A truly great post with photos enhanced by the writing. I'glad the dog was big enough to protect the beer!
