Left Alone~

Some say if you break a problem into parts....it's easier to figure out.
In this case,
I do believe it's just a lot of work no matter how you view it.
~~~~~~~~~~
I think this problem can just rest easy on the big hill out back...
for some problems are probably better
just left alone.
my barn could use some attention too, but i'm glad my roof isn't shake shingles like yours is! it makes for some pretty photos, though! (glad you're linking in to Barn Charm!)
My grandmother used to ask me..when I was pondering problems.."Just how bad do you want to kick a hornet's nest?" LOL!
Yes, some problems are best left alone!
The old "better leave well enough alone" situation. I know it well.
Great old barn though. Love the color. :)
I wish it was mine. I would love to restore something like that. I wonder if I could come and carry it home to California and rebuild it here. I need a barn like that.
Lovely words also.
I like the shingled roof. You don't see that a lot. Nice photos.
That one is a beauty...wish it would be restored to its former glory.
I love that roof; completely full of character and charm. Sweet!
That poor barn needs a little love! :)
I dunno, Dawn. This looks like someone took that "leave the problem alone" philosophy for too long, changing a little problem into a big problem.
It does need a little TLC.
That project looks like a good one to make friends with some farmers that have done a refurb before and offer to trade labor for experience. I'm no farmer, but if the structure is solid, I'd tackle it from the top down. New roof to protect the rest.
Regarding the HIM, it was nice not having the hype and pressure (and cost) but tough to keep going when the going got tough with no real finish line and no signs, people cheering, etc along the way.
I love old structures like this... I picture in my mind what they could tell me if only they could talk.
Beautiful shots Dawn. I'm not so sure that some problems are best left alone, if I do that with too many of my problems they all pile up and become HUGE problems. I'm currently trying to sort one out and just don't know what to do with it, all in good time but at least I'm giving this one some thought.
Have a great week... your post has me thinking now and I came to blogger not to think! lol Nite, have a great day!
Great photos and thoughts. Sometimes taking a problem apart gives us more problems to solve.
I lot of work true, but its a classic American barn so i really do hope someone fixes it up. Old wood from barns is worth a good amount of money, and ive seen some very nice floors and tables made from it. But in this case since its still standing i hope they can save it. Maybe you could run over there and tell them, plus you could get a good run in at the same time!. Richard
You have a great eye for photography Dawn.
And, I would def be the one to vote for leaving all that work alone.
The worn look really adds charm to this barn. Very nice photos.
That barn would take a lot of work to repair, but it does look charming in photos.
Beautiful old barn that has seen better days.
My sentiment exactly, ignore it, sweep it under the carpet, bury your head in the sand and hopefully somebody else will deal with it. Did I mention I got divorced a few years back:-)
What a fantastic barn. Love that first shot!
Sometimes what used to be a problem, when left alone, ceases to be a problem because its significance has diminished.
If the barn was still to serve its original purpose its state would be a (big) problem. But if it existed only to serve as a photo op, then there would be no problem with it at all.
Kinda depends on how you look at it.
Nice views, btw.
