Charmed~ I'm sure

Out on a walk with friend one day, I looked over from our in-depth conversation
and saw this 'charmed barn'.

My dear friend had to pause our walk and conversation while I  went to take captures
with my phone camera.

I'm sure of it.

How well 5 things come together ...
The roof, 1st floor, sitting on the snow, a beautiful background, and the "Red" lighting just beneath the roof ! Wonderful picture ... Charming indeed !

Very nice Dawn! Is that snow peaking out at the bottom of the photo?

That barn is a total work of art.

The hint of what was once over all paint and the little square windows give it lots of charm!
I think the missing roof pieces make it look like someone is doing a jig-saw puzzle up there. :)

A most charming barn, Dawn. It is beautiful, just as it is, but someone needs to go to work on that roof or it will soon be lost.

I am reminded of a trip to Ireland in the 1970s. The most beautiful parts of Ireland were those that had become so poor and uninhabitable that they were deserted and left to the elements. The least interesting were the modern, well built structures with -- alas -- no charm. I was feeling rather snobby for admiring the wrecks and looking down my nose at the modern advances.

I'm afraid this barn needs the modernization and we will just have to wait another 50 years to see the charm again.

Neat old barn. Is the roof covered in cedar shingles?

Oh! I want to live in it! Well, maybe with some insulation... :)

Lovely--looks like it needs a new roof or it'll begin the inevitable decline.

The sign of a true friend - one who will interrupt a conversation in mid-sentence so you can get a capture ! And a wonderful one (capture ... AND friend) at that !

Great pic Dawn! I always wondered what one would do with a barn with the main beam drooping and the shingles in dis-repair. Re-hab by calling in favors or let it go?

Beautiful! There is an old barn a few miles from our town that has been made into a restaurant. I love the quaint atmosphere in it:)

Mmmmm... I really do need to come and visit. What incredible landscapes you get to enjoy in passing! (Oh, and by the way, regarding the book - I had some students who would have enjoyed reading a phone book if I'd asked them to. They loved it. The others kind of read all the books I gave them under much duress.)

Sorry to see the roof starting to sag but I do love the faded red paint. :)
