after the holidays...

All my kiddos go back to their regular schedules tomorrow.

The tree is down.

Furniture righted.

Gift boxes packed away or recycled.

All signs of festivity have pretty much disappeared.
~~~~
But I don't feel all that bad....
Not like some others I've seen:
I'm actually quite happy to get back to "normal"...whatever that is.
I like my regular, "scheduled programs" and days.
Makes me feel like I know where I'm going...and that's always a good thing.
I think.
~~~

{Now I'm just hoping the above subject gets around to conquering the after-holiday Let Down.

I think once he's over his eggnog high,  he'll feel righted once again:)}

We have to go back tomorrow too. I think it will feel good to get back to the routine. I seem to do better with routine. I get more accomplished. I love that picture of your dog. He is so great.

He's thinking about something!! We just took our decorations down today. The only thing I feel bad about is taking down my tree. I have some ornaments my father bought me years ago and because he is no longer with us, looking at them on the tree always makes me happy.

I went back to work today, whew! A rude, early awakening. But, like you, I am glad to get back on a regular schedule.

Cute picture Dawn! There is something to be said for a regular schedule. It will help with the training too.

Oh, I just want to curl up on the floor with him. He's the sweetest dog ever! I have to admit, I feel a bit like him these days....

Old normal is good. Not sure I like this new normal weather. No snow this time of year is just WEIRD.

Uhhh... how much eggnog did the above subject drink?

Posting this from a train in SE Colorado... I'm going to go home to a tree that needs to come down, any helpers?

Oh I think our dogs are on the same wavelength. Elsie LOVES getting into good-smelling boxes too ... empty or not ... not always the best thing for those delicate canine digestive systems!

Wow, look at you go! The tree's down already, mine will most likely stay up until at least the 7th unless I get foolishly energetic and take it down sooner.

I love this photo of your dog, it's way too cute!

If you get bored you're more than welcome to come to the city and help me put my Christmas away, I'm procrastinating because I bought 3 new shelving units to organize the basement and that's going to be a huge job. Declutter time.

Have a wonderful evening, take care!

Festive is fun for awhile but there is a lot to be said for back to normal. As long we look ahead with happy thoughts and remember to wear a smile.

Happy New Year, Dawn. Keep tri..ing!

LOL! I'm not laughing at your poor doggie, but I know how it feels to overdo it on the eggnog. I love that stuff! The spiked kind is good, too. :-)

Hard to believe the holidays are gone and it's January. Sheesh.

What a cutie.
I always like getting things put back together after the holidays. I also tend to do a major cleaning out this time of year, too. What better time to get rid of all the excess?

Mama always said normal was just a sittin' on the washin' machine. Heehehee!

We didn't have our Christmas 'till last Saturday. Today I went into town and undecorated the Church and my house is next.

Your waaaay ahead of me.

It doesn't take much! :o)

I also took all my decorations down right after new year, except for the twinkly lights here and there that my family likes in the dark winter days. I'm glad to have the holiday heaviness behind me... perhaps I'll buy some white tulips!

I'm already missing my eggnog high =)

I completely get that desire to return to your regular "scheduled programs" and days. Some of us are creatures of habit and find comfort in our routines.

Thank you for the lovely comment on my blog. =)

that photo is hysterically funny !!

and i like it when things are back together, too....it's due to the control freak in me :)

I love routine, but I seem to be getting much better at living in the moment as I get older.
This photo is as cute as can be and is professional grade for sure. It belongs in a magazine....
