weekend wedding

~Just got back from here~

~Taking pictures like this~

I was asked to photograph my friend's wedding in the mountains this weekend.
The 2nd scariest thing I've ever had to do besides my Olympic Distance Triathlon.

The above picture is one of literally 100's.
Now, to go through them all, edit, print.....
and hope they don't get deleted some how.
Ahhhhhhhh!!!

(I cannot wait to get these pictures off  my hands.
Did I mention how nervous I am about this?)

They will love them! :-)

I am sure they will all be great, but I also understand your worry. This is a good way to convert the joy of photography into fear and loathing.

I've come over from This or That. Wanted to wish you happy birthday. Love these pictures you have taken.

WOW!! What an amazing place to get married! She has a pink dress! It's so pretty!

(I'd make a back up copy on a flash drive or disk or something, right away.)

Hi Dawn, I photographed wedding for 38 years, one thing I can tell you is that the stress factor is sky high. I believe I have hyper tension because of the stress of shooting weddings. I hope that your friends love what you have done for them.

I assume you read my post yesterday about what {almost} happened to the wedding photos I took in December? Yep, happy editing, I also find it way too stressful!

Judging by the preview you've given us, the photos must all be beautiful!

Beautiful pictures Dawn! How cool is that to be asked to photograph a friends wedding? I would be plenty nervous too. Oh wait, I don't ever have to worry about being asked to do that :-).

Happy Birthday! I hope you had a great day. 29 again this year?

These are terrific photos! But I can feel for you in taking wedding photos - not something I like to do unless I'm only a supllemental photographer.

O.K. I'll admit I wasn't excited when I saw the title ;). But WOW if you're going to get married now that's the place :)!!!

What an awesome challenge. These photos are lovely and I have no doubt that the rest are just as wonderful.

Boy it is a honor when you are asked to do something like this but really nerve racking. They just don't know what it all in-tells. I did a reception I don't want to do it again it takes out all of the fun.

I have no weddings in my future, as I'm lucky enough to have married my soul mate. But if I did, you'd be my first call, Dawn.

I've shot weddings before, and the thing that's always eaten away at my insides is whether I'd be able to capture the spirit, the feel, the zeitgeist of the day. You have: These are magical glimpses of a clearly magical day.

No worries about the rest of them: I'm sure they're fabulous.

I would tell you not to be nervous, but I've been in that seat before and it's hard to not be nervous. However, I'm sure your photos are beautiful. The ones here sure are. And all the pics you post are always stunning. The couple is sure to be thrilled.

It is hard to get all eyes looking your way when there are so many people trying to get a good shot also.

:D You make me smile. You at least saved them to an external hard drive, didn't you? Duh... the one thing I probably would forget to do and then poof! They'd be gone. :D

all of us who come here know you have it in you to take fabulous photos! but, i understand the whole part about getting it right, and not deleting a folder marked "the-most-important-day-of-my-friends-life". ;o)

What a super place to get married!

what a beautiful place for a wedding and I'm sure you did a wonderful job (only probably with that is other people will ask you do photograph their wedding)

Gorgeous, Dawn ! (was that in Canmore by any chance ?). I'm sure you backed everything up, right ? RIGHT ?

I don't think I'd take a wedding on - too much pressure and little chance to repeat a shot. The ones you posted are lovely - I'm sure they're indicative of the whole shoot.

Went through a number of your recent posts - loved that view of the Alberta I miss, and the old/new ...

A (really late) Happy New Year.

You did a great job. I love the roses, and the shot of the couple with the mountains behind.

You might like to upload them to you Tube as a private video so they will be safely on the cloud as well as your hard drive. People love the slide show I made of pics from my nieces wedding-
