letting go

I have always thought that holding on
will make you strong.
But maybe it's the letting go that
makes you stronger.

Nope - the real deal is in letting go. Whatever we're holding onto is oftentimes akin to that barbed wire. At least in my experience. oy

Our posts today parallel each other in a way. Mine is about direction and dreams -- and yours about letting go (of things that are not good for us, I assume.)

I'm letting go of something not good for me and so far, so good. Wishing you strength in your journey. :)

Letting go is certainly harder than holding on.

The photo looks like one is at the end of the fence... Interesting contrast to "letting go"

It's fundamental to our human nature to resist change, and letting go is the ultimate admission that change is inevitable - and indeed often irreversible.

Sending you good vibes that all is well with you, Dawn. I sense in your words and images that it may not be, and hope that the words of others help you navigate this chapter.

Yes friend
it is in letting go that we find our deeper strength....our strength in Faith that what we let go of today will have a chance to grow into something better for tomorrow.
Love the picture!

You have lots of love and support around you for today and whatever tomorrow brings. May your blessings bring you strength.

Letting go is hard...but yes...it does make you stronger. I think that is when you start to rely more on the Lord and less on your own strength.

Lovely thoughts and picture. I like that opening to go to a new area.

I love your picture and your thought is just profound. I think of course you are so right on, it is only in the letting go that we can live. When my two oldest got married, I thought I would die, even though I adore their mates, then it dawned on my by giving up I welcomed two more lovely people into my home. Then when I gave them up again, I got lovely grandchildren, every time one of the girls is going to have a baby, I have to give them up to the mercy of God, the baby and my girls who are God's anyway. So it is true giving up we become stronger.

Letting go is so hard, even when its the right choice. Easier said then done for me. Beautiful photo.

So simple, yet so true and challenging. There are some things that are important to hold onto, but usually the things that cause the biggest challenges in life are those things we need to let go.

I definitely have learned this lesson over the past two years. I still struggle once in a while with letting go, but it's healthier for me and everyone if I do.

At least I have a rock that I can hold onto during all of it.

Either one can be so difficult. If we're lucky, we have the wisdom to seen which one is for the best. I wish you peace.

I think the letting go makes you stronger. But sometimes it is so much more difficult.

Excellent photo. Letting go is really hard but to grow you just have to do it. One thing you will find, you are stronger than you think you are.

Amazing photo Dawn, I love it!

I believe that letting go or hanging on is dependent on what it is you are addressing. Some things in life I believe it is harder to let go of thus making you stronger once you have entirely let go, whereas others things in life sometimes are worth the effort to hang on to, strength to do the work is required. I hope that makes some sort of sense to you, I know what I mean! :-)

Does this mean you're home now?

I do think you may be right, Dawn. I am learning that these past two years. For me, it might be letting go of a continent.

So true, for when we let go, we open ourselves up to new experiences and life journeys! Stay planted and you are safe but never see new vistas!

Are you ok?

Sometimes it takes so long to let go, and you are so right in that letting go does make you stronger.
