My flight over the Arctic Plain

So I flew over my field the other day.
It took me to some magnificent scenery:
glaciers,
windswept plains,
a beautiful and brilliant landscape....

All was well until my ski hit a drift and I came crashing back to earth in a tangle of skis and poles.
And a mouthful of snow.
My winter flight was over.

It looks like that here, too. They are expecting us to have up to two foot before it is over with and the local National Guard (my hubby) is on standby. Ick. I'm so sick of snow. How about we take a little tropical vacation? Whatdya say?

Haven't been able to visit my favorite blogs for a couple days... I read your past posts and I love the pic's of the chair outside covered with snow.. Yes, I'll take something hot to drink..
We are suppose to get a measly 5 inches today of snow.. I can tell we are going to get something because the birds at the feeders are very busy..
Have a tiggeriffic day~! ta ta for now from Iowa

Just lovely and to bad about the fall. Really when I ski I should call it more falling than skiing. I also eat lots of snow. :)

That's a lot of snow! Oh, my! I am the world's worst when it comes to skiing. I'll leave that to brave souls like you.

Oh no! hahah. I'd be too frustrated I think to ski if I stumbled over myself. :) Looks like you're dealing with some serious snow there! I love the marks the wind has left behind on the snow.

A belated Happy Birthday Dawn!
OK, I'll have to admit that the mere thought of strapping on skis and trying to get downhill strikes fear in me! I am a real chicken when it comes to feeling that I can't control my feet. You GO GIRL!

I've often felt that skiing is very much like flying. You sail effortlessly over the snow, feeling gravity take you across the landscape. Sometimes, I feel if I grew wings I could simply take off. Awesome series of shots from a delightfully Canadian winter!

Sorry I missed your birthday way back when, Dawn. I have NO manners!
