Perspective.
It's a tricky thing in certain situations.

Lately I seem to be going through a particular "perspective issue"....and try as I might, I cannot seem to wrap my head around the "other perspective".
My own is the only one that seems logical.

So where do you draw a line? Or do you?
~~~
Same situation- but a different take on the matter.
We all are individuals with different methods of reasoning.
Why should my perspective be better than any one else's?
{It shouldn't be.}
I am just looking forward to the day when BOTH perspectives can be appreciated.
I'm not saying I will get to the point of embracing the other view-but I sure hope to understand it to a degree!
That must be the key.....and a tricky one at that.
Each has a right to their own perspective - yet respecting the others take on it is most important regardless of perspective.
Respect.
P-{erspect}-ive.
(a little word scramble brings it to light:)
Deep thoughts here... sounds like you are wrestling with something serious. Time always gives us better perspectives. I like how you pull "respect" out of perspective.
It is nice when we find some sense of commonality with others ideas, especially in a rather serious matter. My perspective on life is a lot different from what it was 20 years ago. We change with age and change is good they say, if we don't get out of hand.Years back I found a street named Normal. I talked with a number of people about the possibilities of living on that street as a normal famliy living an average life. Nobody could detail what average and normal related to, it had endless possibilities, according to their perspectives.Respect would be a good perspective for all to follow, it is easy to do if one tries.
A great thought... and I love the wordsmithe artistry! Behind your words are a riddle, a life story; and while I'm kind of curious to know what it is, that's not what matters at all. Rather what matters is that I hear the words that come forth from your heart in the middle of what sounds like a tricky situation. Who hasn't been there or thought these things? We all have. But you are bringing them into something tangible that is easier to think through. Personally, I love your perspective. Thanks for this (again). ;)
I loved your word scramble. Yes, respect for a differing viewpoint is necessary to maintain any kind of peaceful coexistence. And as to whether your perspective is any more important or "right" than someone else's? I think it depends on what you can live with, what you can compromise on and what you can't. Each person as an individual has their own needs, their own goals, ethics, etc. If too many points are dissimilar, life will be difficult (not impossible, but certainly the road will be harder). And yet, so many times opposites attract. I think God toys with us sometimes. :)
You said it, respect! I think you can disagree, but understand. Thoughtful post today and neat photos. Good luck with your perspective issue!
I think it is also a matter of respecting each other. Then those prospects might have together.
Its so hard when you have to see the other point when your convinced yours is right. Let me know if you ever figure out how to do it! I like the idea of "repecting" the other veiw. Its like allowing the thought without totally agreeing with it.
We are each our own individuals and see life through different lenses..
(Hope you enjoyed your trip)
We are all different and we all have different "perspectives." But..it's important to remember that the other persons perspective although different than ours, is their reality.
Did that make even one bit of sense? I think i meant you have to repect other perspectives because to thmn, it is the truth. Crap, I did it again...
First off, the easy part - great perspectives in your photos !
Next, the harder part - mutual respect is very important otherwise differences in perspective quickly escalate to nastiness. and beyond. Then there are core values you hold that don't/can't change, no matter how you look at them. Beyond that - keep an open mind and you might see things from someone else's perspective.
Just trust your own feelings and go with those.
Sometimes we just have to do what we have to do. Even if we don't agree with other perspectives, we should respect them.
Dawn, sounds like a tough one. You care to join me in my critical thinking class? I've only been to 3 classes so far and the most prominent thing which jumps out at me is to watch my ego, it seems to get in my way of happiness a bit too often. My ego wants to be right, my heart tells me different and sometimes I find the distance between the head where ego lives and the heart can be a long ways, this is where I find my inner struggle. I allow my heart to win, the ego can just never mind. I'd rather be serene than be right I've learned. I hope that you can find your solution to this difference in perspective, your the only one who knows what's best for you. Hugs sent your way, we can all use one of them in my opinion.
Awesome photos!
I've had this conversation with another blogger about the struggle of outwardly being who you are vs. keeping some of your strong opinions to yourself to keep the peace.
All I can offer is that, the older I get, the less I care about what other people think. I've learned the hard way what is best for me -- and I'm not afraid to share! (I think it has alot to do with whom I'm married to. He always encourages me to speak my mind.)
It's something I am so working on at the moment. Realizing that MY perspective is just that... mine. Letting others have theirs and learning to respect and be just fine with it is a challenge for me on this life journey. But, I am making so much progress just being aware.
Great thoughts. Wouldn't the world be a different place if we could all respect each others' perspectives????
No advice, Dawn. We all sort the jumble out as well as we can. Then, go on. I liked the photos, but today they seemed more like foils for you to think out loud.
At least you are open to look at in the right way and consider to change your mind.. that is an epiphany.
"Each has a right to their own perspective - yet respecting the others take on it is most important regardless of perspective."
This sums it all up, you don't have to agree with someone elses view on a subject, but you are the better person by respecting that they have their own view.
Excellent viewpoint my Friend
