~Bright Side~

I was given these flowers as a hostess gift ....
and they brightened my week.

(For instance....)

I  slid my van in to the ditch- yet again.
{The brighter side ....}
I NEVER HIT THE MAIL BOX THIS TIME!
~~~
~~~

Upon coming out of the gym one morning, I slid on a patch of ice, "gracefully" flew up in to the air, and landed on my rear.
{The brighter side....}
ONLY ONE PERSON SAW IT HAPPEN. (I think)
{And the ice meant that the weather had- at one point- been warm enough to melt snow!}
~~~
~~~

I have consumed at LEAST 3 times the amount of sugar this week....due to extra chocolate and desserts around the house.
{The brighter side...}
I HAVE ENJOYED THE OUTSIDE AND MY SKIS A LOT MORE
IN TRYING TO BURN IT ALL OFF.
~~~
~~~

2 extra bills came in the mail which I wasn't expecting, my van needs to be expensively fixed, and I just found out I've paid a company twice for one item- but they never bothered to tell me.
{The brighter side....}
I GOT  A LOT OF PRACTICE IN THE PATIENCE AND
PERSONAL RELATIONS DEPARTMENTS.
~~~
~~~

We had another dump of snow this week, and tonight it is supposed to once again hit almost -30 degrees celcius....and that's without the wind.
{Brighter side...}
I GET TO CONTINUE TO WEAR MY FAVORITE RED WOOLEN MITTENS.

There's a bright side to every story.
You just have to know where to look!
~~~
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
Tell me on the brighter side, you never got hurt?
I love your flowers and I love, love your wonderful attitude. I might be in a padded cell with a fancy jacket. :)
Have a lovely weekend.
A Prelude To... said...
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...
And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...
If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.
And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...
The bright side of your post for me is being reminded that I just happen to have some chocolate and ice cream lying around the house waiting to be enjoyed as a snack tonight. Thanks for this motivational post about making the best of what we've got!
Way to look at the bright side! I too will be heading outside for some extra "positive" side of the outdoors to work off that ice cream turtle cake! SO YUMMY!
With flowers like that on your table, I imagine it's a bit easier lookin at the brighter side of things. That's how I usually cope with a run of bad luck. :)
Awesome post Dawn! There is ALWAYS a brighter side if we search for it and you have done a fantastic job in finding the brighter side.
The roads must be horrendous there, twice in the ditch, not cool but like you said at least you didn't hit the mailbox! :-)
It's darn cold here as well, back into my warm bed with my electric blanket, my new laptop and netflicks, netfiks, netflics, netflix... whatever! I just got it and don't even know how it's spelled yet. lol... life is good.
Beautiful flowers and great photos!
What a super attitude! When something happens we always try to look on a bright side of it. Sometimes we have to dig deep to find it :) But, find it we do.
Have a wonderful weekend!
There is definitely something to be said when a person has the ability to see past the immediate frustrations life often throws.
Have a great week!
Dawn,
Very lovely! I like how you took those experiences and saw the good in them...we need to do that more often, don't you think?
However, I am sorry you had difficult moments...I tell my kids when they come to me and tell me they've had a bad day I ask them about it and reassure them the ENTIRE day wasn't bad; just moments...seems more manageable, doesn't it?
Smile...
Aw, way to go! I was just thinking, I'll be a little sad when the weather warms up because then I won't get to wear my favorite gray hat! Lol. I loved your perspective today. Thanks!
A rather bumpy road, I was without a coat yesterday while shooting.Most of the snow is gone except where we have piled it up.My neighbor has a few crocus peeking, but I think I shall look for some mums like these to brighten my home.Should be a better selection after V day.
How is the tush? eeek! My bright side is although I am homesick like crazy, I don't have to deal with the ice and snow this time of year and we have pansies outside smiling up at me. xo
Wonderful post, Dawn. So sad about your van! But I visited an indoor waterpark with my kids on Thursday (it was great fun) but as I was going in to have my shower, I slipped and fell (bam!) on the tile floor. I lay sprawled out in my bathing suit as a man stood and stared at me... the humiliation! And my kids were nowhere to be seen - they would have made it so much less humiliating! Oh well. It happens to the best of us. Your post cheered me up today!
I always try to keep that in mind. I always try to look at my own situation and think of how much worse it could be.
You are so good at reminding us of the important things. :)
You inspire me with your ability to see the hope in a situation that, at first glance, might seem to offer none.
As we find ourselves looking out the window at the beginning of yet another Great Canadian Blizzard, I'm going to keep this entry in mind. And I'll smile all the while. Thanks Dawn!
Dawn! Gosh, I've been so out of the blogging loop lately, I don't know what happened. I'm catching up on your blog now :) I LOVE it as always. And I love your perspective. It's hard to find the positive in everything, but so worth it. Oh, and I totally face planted in the rain on Friday outside walking my dogs and got SOAKED and all scratched up... but the up-side is we got enough rain to make it slippery :).
Ok.. gonna go read the rest of your fun entries now :)
