Fences

"Throw your heart over the fence and the rest will follow."
~Norman Vincent Peale

Don't ever take a fence down until you know why it was put up.

smiles at you over the back fence,
but doesn't climb over it."

The first two quotes opened the gate and we were ready to charge through, then the last two closed us back into our own little space again. Just like events in life...

Fences are good to have, but like in the case today, I was watching as a little boy came running through the pasture chasing my neighbors rooster. He shot though my fence into my yard, I thought as I watched, fences are good unless you are a boy, then they just get in the way. I am glad for little boys who don't see fences. :)

I've heard the saying "Good fences make good neighbors" many times. There is some truth to that. I like the horse picture!

Build a little fence of trust around today; Fill the space with loving deeds, And therein stay.

Another quote: Country fences look absolutely beautiful in photos ... Yours certainly are magnificent, Dawn! And that horse is just so precious. As for me, "Don't fence me in" also comes to mind.

I am not much for fences. In fact, I could probably stand to build a few more to avoid certain dangers. Beautiful quotes.

There are some perceptive observations about human nature in those quotations. Sometimes, however, you just want to tear them down.

In some of the cities in South Africa the crime rate is so high that people barracade themselves behind high walls with electric wire on top. It sometimes look like jails. I still love the wide open spaces and freedom of fenceless properties.

Thanks for inquiring about me. I've been recovering and am going to start back slowly. What a perfect place to start at your blog which always gives me so much to think about :O)
I love that horse it looks so friendly and the quote about not taking a fence down. That holds a lot of wisdom.

Reminded me of a song from a ways back:

And the sign says "Anybody caught trespassing will be shot on sight"
So I jumped the fence and I yelled at the house
Hey! What gives you the right!
To put up a fence and keep me out, or to keep Mother Nature in
If God was here, he'd tell it to your face, man, you're some kind of sinner !

Beautiful photos, and quotes.
