I am sure it is a great mistake always to know enough to go in when it rains. One may keep snug and dry by such knowledge, but one misses a world of loveliness.
I was just sitting in my car in the driveway after dropping the kids off at school and before I hopped out, I realized how sweet the raindrops sounded on my sun roof and I just sat there with my eyes closed and listened to some of God's music for a while. What a world of loveliness we've been given. Thanks for all your photos that remind me daily of how lucky we are.
So true, so true you know I know this one. To take a photo trip out the rain and the wilderness with you would be fun. I love the rain but am ready for it to stop for a least a week so I can get my garden in. Nice pics. B
I laughed at someone telling me they hadn't beenout for a walk because of the rain.I asked if they ever jumped in a puddle. We have had lots so it would cramp my style a bit.
i love being out in the rain. when i was little, we lived across the street from a beautiful golf course. there was nothing better than running barefoot across the soft greens during a rain shower.
i just love a good storm...when it becomes real dark in the middle of the day and rains. listening to the soft patter of the rain on the windows....cozy!!!!
I love this quote, Dawn - and, of course, your fantastic photography.
I've always been a contrarian, of sorts, heading out when everyone else is heading in. There's nothing as lovely as a beach, for example, on a grey, wet day. It takes on a sheen that folks who show up to battle the crowds on hot, sunny days never get to see.
Thanks for the timely reminder to always seek the unique perspective.
Wonderful photos, Dawn (even if they did take quite a while to load, given my %*&^ internet connection). I find that the light is great during a (light) rain or immediately before/after - very soft with no harsh glare.
Congrats on your 1/2 marathon AND beating your goal !! Whoohoo !!
That's one thing, living here in the Hollow, that I love since we have a metal roof and a large covered front porch where I can listen to the creek or the raindrops!...:)JP

I used to love being out in the rain. Now I forget to do it.

All such beautiful blooms! I love a good rainy day :) (just not a bunch of them in a row!!)
So very true.
If we are lucky enough that the wind is not blowing a gale, then I don't mind walking around the yard in the rain, checking out the new flowers.
Perfect quote to go with your gorgeous photos, Dawn. :)

Such a true quote, my favorite pass time is "rubber-booting"...going out in the rain, exploring the creeks and playing in puddles.
Just beautiful
