last summer rays

By no means am I ending my sporadic trips to the beach at night.

No way

.

But I'm beginning to realize that as summer draws to a close....

the light seems to fade a bit more quickly.

My mind seems to gather and store treasured moments~

as if needed as warmth for the winter months which lie ahead.

Everyone seems to be preparing or looking  or planning~ 

rather than the summer "laid~back~ness".

A certain melancholy lingers in the air ~

as if wanting to mimic the Fall as it creeps in to do its work.

And I can't help but wonder~

just where DID The Summer go?

Moonshine

I feel a little intoxicated with the beauty of this night.

My room is lit from the moonshine, 

throwing it's reflections across the floor.

 Outside my window the yard is cast with shadows, 

as bright as though day were shining.

Night holds a beautiful mysteriousness to it.

I don't want to sleep for fear I may miss one drop of it.

I walked late this afternoon, and stayed out until the sun 

disappeared to brighten the other side of our world.

I was sad to see it go.

But now,

 I am blessed with this new light.

Moonshine light.

I took this picture at night while sitting at a stop light.

The street lights gave all of the frosted trees an unearthly glow.

Normally I love days filled with color, 

but on this night it felt calm and peaceful to be in a grey and silvery world.

The street was lined with these magical trees~
