I took this picture at night while sitting at a stop light.
The street lights gave all of the frosted trees an unearthly glow.
~~~
Normally I love days filled with color,
but on this night it felt calm and peaceful to be in a grey and silvery world.
The street was lined with these magical trees~
{Defying the street lights-
theses ancient looking trees used the harsh light to show off their frosted beauty.}
I love peaceful, snow covered nights. Have a good weekend Dawn.
The tree looks beautiful in that light Dawn, it is so serene and peaceful looking. I hope you have a fantastic weekend.
Love this.. peaceful winteryness and mystery! So... do you take pictures when you're at the wheel, too? heehee... we are all the same after all. :) Hugs.
Your picture captured my mood.. this is awesome, and it's from a cell too?
You say you like my words, I love your pics.. maybe we should team up and do a few special assignments sometimes..
Somehow I knew you wouldn't let something silly like driving prevent you from taking an opportunistic photo. I don't wait for stoplights, if there's something interesting. I really need to stop that though. Could be embarrassing, let alone dangerous.
I really like this photogragh, Dawn. I imagine the streets were practically bare that evening. Would just seem fitting. :)
I like the stillness on a winter night.The snow and frost act as a muffler, but sounds can carry well, like the crunching of you feet.Beautiful shot,I could almost smell the winter crispness. I pull over and shoot a lot.If you miss it once it may never be there again.
That is just beautiful!!! You go with your bad cell phone! :)
Very nice picture!
A beautiful night photograph Dawn.
Enjoy your weekend.
Love the golden hue. Very lovely Dawn. Have a beautiful weekend!
Lovely photo, Dawn.
Simply beautiful and such a peaceful moment while driving....to brighten your mood while in the darkness of the night!
I love that photo! The colors and the eerieness are amazing...
nice one!
Love that photo, i am glad you posted it as it came up in the blog feed yesterday but was an unpublished post and I really wanted to see that photo. Really nice.
I love that it looks so pretty. I love the frosted look on the trees. Your snow looks so pretty and fresh.
A beauty of a shot, Dawn. It reminds me of my own park paths here at night.
Hey Dawn - what a great shot! It reminds me of last winter when we went 2 weeks + with no power.
There's a remarkable sense of peace associated with being outside at night. Things seem to slow down, and color seems to be largely removed - which leaves you ample time to drink in the subtle shades that emerge from the occasional pools of light that dot the neighborhood.
This picture captures that tone wonderfully, and it absolutely reminds me of what it feels like to be walking the dog, alone, on a cold December night.
This is a delightfully precise reflection, Dawn, and I'm very thankful you chose to share it as part of this week's Thematic. You've made my day.
Your snow photos usually give me the sense of calm and peace...and quietness.
Now that's taking advantage of the moment !! Gorgeous shot Dawn. There's something special about night shots - maybe because the camera sees more like we see i.e. doesn't pick up everything like it does in daylight. Nice mood in this one.
that is an awesome photo, Dawn! hasn't the weather been great to capture magic moments? that's all I need for Christmas decorations. Beautiful!
thank you
I love your photo. It is very pretty!
Just beautiful. I feel totally relaxed looking at this so could only imagine being in amongst it all.
Oh it really is lovely!!
Great photo! It looks like a painting... :)
I don't have words for this picture!
A gift from God!
Congratulations on winning Hilary's Post of the Week Award!
Just magical!
Yep, this one certainly deserves a POTW! Had to come back for a second look. Totally gorgeous. Congrats!
I love night photos. Very nice!
At a stop light? I couldn't get that glow with a day's time to focus. POTW richly deserved.
