"....just wait a minute."
~~~
I'm pretty sure that must be a universal saying for most parts.
~~It definitely rings true for Alberta.
You can be outside enjoying a beautiful, bright, sunny afternoon...
when within mere minutes-
you're all scrambling for drinks, plates, and cover~~
while your campfire is suddenly extinguishing itself due to torrential rain.
"If you don't like the weather~ just wait a minute"
~~~
I was thinking of this when I captured the above 2 pictures Friday evening.
Funnel clouds and rain within moments of sunshine and rainbows...
gets a little confusing at times.
Life can be like that.
Seems there is no continuous pattern....
it just happens.
Storms here....warmth over there.
Then rain. And snow.
Then it's sunshine again.
Life can be the epitome of this saying.
And that's not always a bad thing.
After all...
no one would enjoy continuous funnel clouds.
Never-ending rainbows would mean constant storms.
If you don't like the situation....
really....
just wait.
The weather does change. Sometimes~ in a minute.

I was in a bad storm 2 nights ago complete with hail and no local radio to listen to.It looks nice today, I am trying to decide whether to move on or go home.Some friends are headed for the lake and think Lily and I should join.
Just what I need to hear. I love how you did this post.
love the beauty that our skies bring us!

I love these reminders. So true, yet so easy to forget! The double rainbow is amazing! What a treat to see.
Truer words have not been spoken today. B

well said, friend :)
we all must learn to dance in the rain!!!
great entry...love the rainbows!!!
Great truth with great pictures:)
so very true... :)
Great images wow. The weather in the Lancaster area has been getting down right scary lately with heavy rains and tornados touching down...............Also please drop by my blog to a brand new post today from old order Mennonite Jean. And look for Jeans first ever recipe (whoopie pies) on Amish Stories this Wednesday. Richard
Fantastic photos.... and the same is true of our weather!
I guess we can't get too hung up on the weather or anything else. We just gotta remember Who is in charge and let Him lead us. All clouds are silver lined.
I love the pictures and it is cool you caught the funnel cloud forming.
So true just be patient.
this morning thunder woke me up very early. Went out for a run and it was cloudy but not raining. Then rain. Then downpour. Then calm again. All in a run!
So true. The weather has been like that around here lately, too. And just like the weather, you never know what to expect in life. It can turn around in an instant.
These photos show how fast weather and life can change!
Too true, too true! That rainbow pic is absolutely beautiful! I think I need to get me out to the countryside again!
Wonderful shots and thoughts!
Dawn these are stunning photos, I LOVE the rainbow! It's so true, the storm of life subsides and we see that rainbow, it's a matter of learning patience and waiting it out.
One of my favorite songs is the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band "If you ever wanna see a rainbow, you gotta stand a little rain."
Have a great day and I hope the sun shines soon!
It happens all the time.
And almost everywhere.

Beautiful photography Dawn...your rainbow photo is my favorite.
The rainbow is fantastic! Lovely photos.
these are gorgeous! can't help but think of the "double rainbow!" guy! lol!
weather is fickle here too. put in a load of laundry while it was sunny. had a nice summer rain when they were ready for the line, and now that they're in the dryer, it's beautiful again. oh well... ;o)
Great photos, Dawn. That saying is very true here in Alberta.
Weather. Life. Kinda similar in so many ways. I'm glad we have you, Dawn, to show us the way.
Patience is a virtue so they say. I love your posts Dawn!!
Love the pictures!
The weather has been crazy here in the midwest too. Lots of storms and rain with lots of hot, humid weather in between. I always check the radar before every ride and run.
Three nice sky photos, accompanies nicely by your thoughts.
Now that is contrast.
We enjoy living in a river valley. When we get bad weather, we seem to get more rainbows than any other place I have lived.
Wow, what a contrast in photos! That's a gorgeous rainbow shot! I have to laugh every time I hear that statement about the weather - people use it like it only applies to their state.
Ever heard "Four Seasons in One Day"? It's a song by Crowded House, an Australian band from Melbourne. Apparently the song was inspired by Melbourne weather. I can vouch for its authenticity, despite the fact I only put sunny photos on my blog:-)
Personally, I reckon clouds, rain, snow and rainbows are overrated. I'm happy if life is just one big sunny beach day!
Once again you put it just right :) Great shots too! I would have been so excited to get a shot of a funnel cloud!
Oooh !! Wonderful your photos ! Great post :)) ...
Bye**
Ha! That is exactly how it is in Minnesota too!! One day it's 90 degrees, the next 60. Uggh!!
Weather is an adventure, just like life itself.
Love the rainbow photo.
So true!
Love these two shots...
I miss the sounds of a storm!! Living in The West Coast we just don't get them!!
Scary sight those funnel clouds! But yes wait a minute and it all will be/get better! Great post!

I came back just to look at those pictures again, great job. Richard from the Amish settlement of Lebanon county.
Yep, the weather has a habit of changing quickly here too. :) LOVE the rainbow shot!
so very true! love the shots!
Having lived near Calgary for 15 years, I know exactly whereof you speak ! 4 seasons in one day was not a rare occurrence. And the winter clothing was never put away.
Great shots - love the rainbows.
