Simple

Reflecting on Simple

My Simple List:

walking has to be one of my favorite things to do~
being with those i love~
thinking of everything, and then again- of nothing in particular~
~ eating my favorite food~
reading too~
watching my kids learn~
finding a new place to explore while i'm out in my wooded backyard~
sitting quietly on my back hill under a moon~
{and my list can go on and on}

Oh how I wish it was only my Simple List that
 I had to get done today.

~~~~~~
I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read and all the friends I want to see.
~John Burroughs
Have a wonder-full weekend.....
Oh how true - wouldn't it be wonderful it we could spend our days doing what we 'wanted' to be doing?
Stunning photo btw.
Lovely list and a wonderful photo. The contrast between the wood stain and the reflection in the window is incredible.
The John Burroughs quote is so true for me. Wish I could make the world stand still, just so I could have time to do more of my simple list. Gorgeous photo too, I mean really amazing. I would hang that on my wall in a second.
I second that! Even without 4 kids to teach and feed, and only 4-legged kids to tend to, I still wile away each day and wonder where it went without getting anything "accomplished". :)
Your list of the simple things in life is perfect, it is amazing how much we can learn and grow from these simple things.
You had one post posted 1 hour ago that asked if anyone was suffering problems and it didn't open up. When i clicked on your header it opened this one.
Nice ideas to share and I may have to make that simple list. I live as simple as I can, it saves a lot of stress being made.I do miss having all the hustle and bustle some especially having kids around.I always have a sheet next to my computer to write ideas and places to look at.When it gets full I put it in a drawer and start a new set of ideas.
Hi Dawn...you are right! We think many of the same things; life as a journey, the inner life. I read slowly through your profile...I say slowly because so many things struck a chord in me. The prairie, sitting on a hill under the moon, weeding your strawberry patch in your bare feet! Oh yes, let toes sink deep into that clean, cool soil!
I enjoy your poetry selections. I have yet to discover your entire blog, but have you read Mary Oliver? If you haven't, you should!
It is a gift to have a new friend in Canada!
No problems with my blog...
Your simple ideas was a reflection of what I would like to do everyday...I have so many things to do and so many books to read and so many places to go it's hard to catch up with it all..
I really enjoyed what you had to say today.. Makes one think to slow down and smell the roses.. keep things simple and enjoy life..
Did you take that photo? It's marvelous! Yes, lately I'd love to do a "Simple List" too. It'd be nice to just take time away from every day life and do the things we love. I hope you get a chance to soon!
WOW! Fantastic photo, I love the reflection of the tree in the window! If only there was enough time in a day to get it all in, the simple things and the not so simple things. I think that somewhere in life we find that balance, some simple things are a must and the must do things shrink... just when that happens, I'll let you know if I arrive there. Happy Sunday to you, I hope you have a blessed day and plenty of time for your simple things.
I think you've captured the essence of a good life - love the simple, ordinary things. and people. I was reminded of Sarah McLachlan's "Ordinary Miracle" when I read your post.
Great photo !
