A New Door

Today is a day that may hold fairly large changes for my two oldest children, as both of them are heading off into new adventures in the way of learning.
I'm dealing with mixed emotions...
one has an entrance exam for college,
and the other has an interview with a school in the city.

I have home schooled all four since day one.
It's been an amazing adventure.
Now....I feel as though as though all my work with them is about to be tested.
All the hours and years of pouring into them is coming to a type of reveal, and maybe.... a completion.

This is a day to see what lies behind the next door.
A chapter coming to a sort of end~~ an new one about to start.

I'm feeling butterflies.
And it's bittersweet.

That is a BIG achievement...homeschooling 4 children! Congratulations. I don't know them, but I have all the faith in the world that they will excel in all they do. You should be very proud! :)

Oh... I hope they both do well. And I hope all your teachings are validated as I'm sure you've done a wonderful job in getting them ready for more education!

Having taught in public schools, the home schooled kids pass with flying colors. There are a few who really didn't do a routine with their kids, but normally they were ahead of many of the students. The tough one for college is knowing how to study, something I never learned in public schools. My first year was bumpy, but I graduated with honors thanks to a few people showing me the path.Good luck to you, letting them go is hard for a mom.

Good luck to both - I'm sure you've done an amazing job! But it's always a little scary to be "tested". We've done the school track, but we've moved a lot and have to cross our fingers & hope it all works out.

You will do just fine, it is hard to wait for the report card after 12 years. You will be so surprised at how well you did. Don't be afraid. It will be God who goes before you. You did what you were supposed to and He will be the one who blesses the work of your hands.
It is still so hard to walk through the doors.
I think the hardest things about home schooling is the letting go and doubting ourselves.
The kids always do fine.

How exciting but yes mixed feelings for you. Since you gave them a good foundation, you can look for the right decisions they make?

Oh that's amazing. I don't know anyone who has home schooled for more than just a few years. You must be very proud of your fine accomplishment and no doubt they'll do well.

Homeschooling four kids is a huge commitment. They should be very ready by now for a bigger world.

Wow Dawn, this is huge! I'm sure that your children will do extremely well, they're most likely better educated than most others who are filling in the same applications or going to the interviews. The school system doesn't provide what you did, real life experience and love, that can't be beat in my opinion.

All the best to each of you, change can be challenging sometimes... which I'm sure you're well aware of!

OH wow, that is a big change. Two at once! I love how you love your kids.
