Throw open the window!

This morning as I walked into the kitchen to chat with my son before he left for work,
I stopped in my tracks when I glanced out the window.

{For days we haven't seen the sun.
The last time I remember seeing it?
Well...even if I look back on the calendar days I honestly couldn't tell you when it was last seen.
It's been more than a week for sure.
Gray,
white,
fog,
horizon meeting land in one large white wall.
It's been dismal.}

But this morning...I saw it.
It took my breath away.
I actually had to throw open my window to let in any amount I could.
(With our record who knows how long such things will last!)

There was no way I was going to miss a minute.

I think my son understood while I ran around the house looking for a camera to use.
And he understood while I stood on the counter to snap pictures from every angle.
I even think he understood when I didn't add a bag of cookies to his lunch bag and he had to do it himself;)
~~

{I was really beginning to wonder if we could still see in color.}

Any day with the sun is a great day. I love running as the sun is rising or setting. Something about it just moves me. Words can't explain but obviously, you know what it is too.

I know exactly how you feel. It's been a long stretch here too without any sunshine. Maybe tomorrow?

Happy you got to see it and enjoy it. :)

It's been dismal here too and I just read that in Oregon it rained the whole month of March, but it all changed yesterday for us. I am so glad you got some sun too, I think you need it the most. I still see so much snow at your place. I know that spring will come to you as well, it just seems to take so long.--Inger

Actually, Dawn, your son went to school and complained to his friends all day long about you ignoring him and skipping his cookies this morning. (Just kidding.) Nice to see the sun after missing it for so long, wasn't it?

The weeks with only grey skies sounds a lot like our winters... We've been having sunny days lately (but with less than 60 of them a year compared to living in Utah with 300+ a year, a sunny day is to be cherished).

ahhh. i love the sun! we were being drenched over here with over a week of gray skies and rain and cold nights and then finally the sun comes out, the birds are singing and we're walking around barefoot in the grass! i even brought out a kiddie pool for the girls to wade around in! hope that sun stays around for a long time! :)
