This morning as I walked into the kitchen to chat with my son before he left for work,
I stopped in my tracks when I glanced out the window.
{For days we haven't seen the sun.
The last time I remember seeing it?
Well...even if I look back on the calendar days I honestly couldn't tell you when it was last seen.
It's been more than a week for sure.
Gray,
white,
fog,
horizon meeting land in one large white wall.
It's been dismal.}
But this morning...I saw it.
It took my breath away.
I actually had to throw open my window to let in any amount I could.
(With our record who knows how long such things will last!)
There was no way I was going to miss a minute.
I think my son understood while I ran around the house looking for a camera to use.
And he understood while I stood on the counter to snap pictures from every angle.
I even think he understood when I didn't add a bag of cookies to his lunch bag and he had to do it himself;)
~~
{I was really beginning to wonder if we could still see in color.}

Beautiful photos - enjoy your sunshiny day!
GASP--awesome!!! We have has 3 inches of rain i two days, replete with thunderstorms that give our Lab--terrors--to the point we have to medicate her.

Any day with the sun is a great day. I love running as the sun is rising or setting. Something about it just moves me. Words can't explain but obviously, you know what it is too.
Very awesome pics..I would love to wake up every morning with a view like that...I might not get to work on time..because I would be so relaxed. Keep Smiling
I know exactly how you feel. It's been a long stretch here too without any sunshine. Maybe tomorrow?

It's been dismal here too and I just read that in Oregon it rained the whole month of March, but it all changed yesterday for us. I am so glad you got some sun too, I think you need it the most. I still see so much snow at your place. I know that spring will come to you as well, it just seems to take so long.--Inger
Great pis but yes i could use some sun too!!!

Leontien
Perfect Dawn. That sun shone for you.
Love the shot with the open window :)
I would imagine a sunset like that doesn't come around very often, even in the warmer season. You got some AMAZING pictures!
I'm so glad you had such a wonderful sunny day. Its good for the body to soak up all that vitamin D. Gorgeous photos too.
Actually, Dawn, your son went to school and complained to his friends all day long about you ignoring him and skipping his cookies this morning. (Just kidding.) Nice to see the sun after missing it for so long, wasn't it?
You got it! I thought it got lost in the mail. :-) They are forecasting snow for us on Sunday.
Now THAT'S what they call a sight for sore eyes ! ... or colour-blind eyes. Beautiful shots of the dawn, Dawn !
There IS hope !
G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!!!!!!!!!

{i kinda get depressed if i don't see the sun for awhile}

Wow Dawn, any one of those would make fantastic wallpaper
Dawn, that last photo is stunning. Did you crop the one with the window open? Just curious. It's amazing to see color, I was starting to get concerned here as well but I see hope! Enjoy your Friday!
Happy Friday! Beautiful pictures...I'm happy the sun made it through for you.
The weeks with only grey skies sounds a lot like our winters... We've been having sunny days lately (but with less than 60 of them a year compared to living in Utah with 300+ a year, a sunny day is to be cherished).
well...I certainly understand your enthusiasm. awesome photo's dawn!
Glorious sun in the midst of a wintry start to spring.
ahhh. i love the sun! we were being drenched over here with over a week of gray skies and rain and cold nights and then finally the sun comes out, the birds are singing and we're walking around barefoot in the grass! i even brought out a kiddie pool for the girls to wade around in! hope that sun stays around for a long time! :)
What a great view, even with a little fog! Love the pics of the sun coming up. So nice to have a sunny day.
Do you have the longest winter on the planet where you live? Hold tight, summer surely can't be too fa away for you now? Fantastic photos!
