Both sides of the story~

There's the seemingly calm:

Which causes the chaos:

There's the seemingly cautious:

And the one in a crowd who throws
caution to the wind:
(look closely and you'll find him rushing in head first)

And gets caught in his consequences:
{Of course....it's usually the Cautionary who has to assist.}

The caution-thrower carries on his merry way:
(Until the next time.)

While the one's full of caution carry on:

At the end of the story, I am always left wondering just
who had the most fun....

another thought provoking post...Bliss tends to throw caution to the wind...it is a wonder she has lived over 11 years...JD was mister cautious...and he only made till 10...makes you think doesn't it...

I'd much rather thrown caution to the wind. I don't always do that, but it sounds a lot more fun.

What a great post ... I think everyone's happiest just following their own heart. Lovely dogs!

It does look like fun, but still not convincing enough for me. I was the one as a kid who sat on the edge of pool while everyone else jumped in. : )

Fun post!

If there weren't the Dukes in the world, think of how many things wouldn't be accomplished -- there's room for everyone, fortunately. :)

That's always the dilemma, isn't it? Caution or fun?

It takes all kinds to rule the world. Both the cautious and the crazy!!!

Is that your beautiful puppy! Looks like a white Golden...

They are indeed into everything and without fear. We have a 12-year old whitish Golden...

I'm not sure they learn this, but humans must - sometimes it does not pay to throw caution to the winds...one must judge carefully the circumstances.

Then again, it seems that some people, in order to be fulfilled, need to be challenged in strange and dangerous ways.

I'm not one of them!

You are luck to have so much open space... that's what catches my eye the most here in your photos. Looks like a nice family walk. Your dog is adorable!

They are gorgeous dogs. Our blue heeler dog would of been in the water in a flash. Whereas the other one would of been hiding just in case we thought she should get wet...

Cute story and allegory.
The dog certainly seems happy with his decision! Glad he didn't get in trouble going through the fast water.
