the thaw

~~~~~
{Could there be anything more fun for a boy,
then playing in the mud for the first time this spring?}
(Or for a mother..... puddle jumping while no one is around?)
"The world is mud-luscious
and puddle-wonderful."
~
E.E. Cummings (American poet 1894-1962)
Ooohhhh, puddle jumping; I haven't done that in years, thanks for the reminder, I hope to find the time to do some of this just cause I can!
I love our signs of spring, awesome shots you've captured. Now please let it really be spring, pretty please no more snow! ;-) Enjoy your weekend!
The grass wishes are working!! Yay!
Do jump and frolick, Dawn; I sprained my ankle running this week (fell off the curb and gashed my arm on the sharp cobblestone - very elegant) so there is no running for me this week. I'm so glad Alberta is beginning to thaw!
p.s. I love ee cummings...
Everything is starting to come back to life, isn't it? So happy for you -- I too enjoy ee cummings' thoughts. :)
I used to love to dam up the water running down our street. I would creat a huge lake in the middle of the road, and cars would come splashing thru it, ruining my dam and causing me to start repair work. Of course, my mom was never pleased at my muddy clothing.
Oh, the melt and the mud. Great pics, and great time of year. I've sloshed through a few myself this season.
Isn't "the thaw" wonderful this year! I was afraid it was going to be winter forever. And the mud ... there is nothing quite like Alberta mud! My boys love it too.
Horay!! So glad to see your defrosting finally!! Nothing better then mud in the spring...if you have some sort of trick getting the stains our later, I'd love to hear it!! We love to play in it, but I stink at getting rid of the evidence!!
What totally wonderful captures. I could almost feel the cold of the water as the ice melts. Great job.
Mud and puddles are better than a bag full of toys for a little boy!
I was the mud queen. I can't tell you how many mud pies I made when I was a kid. If there was mud I had my hands in it. Happy Spring!!
