Some like to hide behind things.
Would rather not be seen.
Some like to stand out.
Baring their true colors whether the colors are liked or not.
Some are pleasant.
Some we find hard to like.
Some we love- others.....not so much.
Some just simply annoy.
And there are some we think we just couldn't do without.
Characters.
{The world is full of them.}

oh, you should link this up to Barn Charm at Bluff Area Daily! These are lovely, and your application to human characteristics is perfect!
Dawn, I love the way you take every day things and combine them with wisdom. No wonder you are such a good teacher to your kids.
Nice collection of barns
And new important pieces..
great barns...all with their very own charachter...
I do love all your barns...I have a thing for old worn out ones.
Happy day and thanks for sharing. xoxoxo
Lovely, lovely barns! Such wonderful pictures.
Love the old barn shots.
Okay, I'm thinking you should publish a book maybe. Because these are things I would totally read and enjoy over and over. I guess I still can on your blog, but it would be cool to keep them all on my coffee table. You have a way with pictures, provoking thoughts, and honesty.
Such a great comparison with the photos and words. Barns are true characters with personality and depth.

awesome. i get it...;)
so true...so true!
What a nice series. I love that last one, through the fence.
Anthropomorphizing barns? Oh, you are good! I never thought of them as "characters" but I guess some have a lot of character and some less so.
Wait! You were using barns analogously?
Representative of human characters...?
I think you're way beyond my mental abilities. :-)
I also think I like the barns with character better than I like some of the characters called humans that I run into from time to time!
Lovely photos!
Thank you.
beautifully done, Dawn!
I love these photos! The last one is my favorite.
great comparison, Dawn. :)
Love the combo of photos and characterization.
The world needs all kinds, even the less appealing ones.
Very interesting architectures !
Beautifully put. Thanks for sharing.
This is simply BRILLIANT!
Wow!

(I know each of those Barn Characters!)
Wonderful post Dawn, so which barn are you? ;-)
I tend to get in trouble when I bare my true colours...:-) I'm with Blender Barn.
Gorgeous barn photos. You are so insightful!
Beautiful pictures, and such true thoughts.
Each one definitely has it's own personality. You certainly have alot of barns in your area -- love these photos, Dawn. :)
You hit the nail on the head with with this one...
Dawn I love this post it is so true I like how you used the barns to prove your point. Cool post. B
dawn...great post, great insight. beautiful barns with so much character. loved this.
Lovely thoughts and photos as you always do. I love the barns, each has a personality to me.
So many personalitys! Beautiful shots. The one in the fence is my favorite :) I love that angle!
You sure have a way with words (and pictures!).
Yes, characters - the world sure is full of them. I find myself more open to all characters the older I get, but I still have my days where some people just plain bug me...
...and I'm sure there are days when I surely bug some people.
When you decided to come to The Villages and jump in the fountain to "spice up" the day, please let me know so I can bring my camera to record the event! I'll bet you would spice things up nicely, too!
Clever you.. such a cute post. I love the faces on the first two.
Ok Dawn, I'm all caught up again on the posts I missed while travelling (and trying to endure this painful internet speed :(
Wonderful, seeing these barn shots and your characterizations of them. And those spring shots with the cautious and not-so-cautious as well as playing in the first-mud-of-spring (a boy's prerogative !). Those snow melting shots sure take me back to our years in Alberta !!
Great posts.
Yes, the many characters of lives or in our lives. I think after 40, I have come to accept them all for just the way they are, whether they annoy me or not. :)
I love your photo's! && I love how you link them to the characteristics of people too! Very creative. (:
A very thoughtful post, Dawn. Which are you? I'm your first barn, tall and proud.
Hi Dawn,
I host a meme & was wondering if would allow me to link this post to Barn Charm on Monday evening... the others really must see these beauties! I know it was posted back in April, but that's quite alright... they're beautiful!!! =)
Thanks again, Dawn, I have this post linked up to Barn Charm =)
These are all great barns and I love the words you added for each of them!
You have quite a variety of barns here! I like the diversity.
This is the neatest post with the storyline accompanying it. Love the variation of barns and your thoughts about them. A wonderful series. genie
oh i love this whole post!
How you put the words is beautiful. The barns are all stunning and charming. Happy Tuesday!
The Barn
