It seems my need for sleep is being overridden by the need to see
every moment of the day.
I keep thinking that one day I'll catch up on my sleep, but Darn It! ...
there's too much to see and do in a day that only lasts for 24 hours.
One night last week I stayed up till all hours of the night~ just because the moon was so bright, the night was incredibly warm for our area and time of year,
(and the wine in my hand too good to put down.)
Then just the other morning my internal alarm clock went off as usual...far too early.
The sky looked just about ready to put on a display of a sunrise,
so I thought maybe a kayak would be the perfect venue for viewing.
The following captures don't need my words.
{So I'll be quiet for a change.}

Moments of a day can be so golden.
And so worth giving up a few blinks of sleep for.

Gorgeous pictures, Dawn! The deep orange is beautiful! There's not really much that needs to be said.
Enjoy your day, too!
Beautiful! Thanks for getting up early and taking pictures so the rest of us could sleep in :-).
beautiful photos! so worth it! : )
Wow, that would certainly be worth getting up early for. I've been getting up early myself for some reason! I just drink coffee and watch the Today show. Lol. Maybe I should take up kayaking!
Pure gold, Dawn.
Absolutely gorgeous.
These photo's are absolutely gorgeous Dawn. They are so warm, I absolutely love them. What a beautiful time of day to go kayaking.
very pretty and very peaceful.
Lovely shots and thoughts, the start of a lovely day woke you up.
A truly beautiful sunrise. The gold ripples really touched me.
I have this "magical" minute each morning where the sun shines through my kitchen window at just the right angle and bathes the room in goldeness (I know that is not a word, but if should be.) I miss it on cloudy mornings.
ooohhhsss and aaahhhhss from over here! yeah, my vote is to sleep when we're old :)
When I see sights in nature that are so stunningly gorgeous, I see God at work. These beautiful sights are awesome and breathtaking and sobering. Thank you.
Beautiful pictures...camera girl:)
no wonder you can't sleep with that beauty around you...you need to be seeing it and sharing it...
wow. absolutely gorgeous. peace and stillness in the earliest part of day. nothing better!
Wow, Wow, Wow...I love each and every shot!
Trying to think of a word to describe that color -- nectarine? :)
Gorgeous -- and I hear you. So much to be seen and done.
Stunning..I feel better seeing them :)
Gorgeous! You have the right attitude while I complain about being bored:) I agree with your thoughts though
beauty and truth all in one post, love it :O)
I would totally give up some zzzzs for that golden beauty.
Oh I find it hard to sleep too. Some older person told me I"ll sleep when I am dead. Yup that's what I am going to do I don't want to miss a thing. Just like you. Incredible shots. Love your new camera I am afraid if I got one I would never even go to bed. :) B
reminds me of one of my favorites from steven tyler "i don't want to close my eyes, i don't want to fall asleep, cause i don't want to miss a thing"!!
that crazy guy knows what he's talking about!!
these are gorgeous!!
I feel the same way. Unfortunately my body talked back and knocked me for a loop last week. Getting better though and soon I will be back at it. Wonderful photographs.
Beautiful photos ... glad you went out there and got them for us!
Thanks for sharing the fantastic view--and sorry you had to sacrifice sleep.
What an incredible golden light! That was definitely worth getting up early for.
That last one is UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Thanks, Dawn.
I agree - the early morning is such a wonderful time. What magical golden photos!
Awesome,no words needed to share thoughts on the beauty of that...!
Stunning shots Dawn, sleep is overrated sometimes... looks like you're experiencing one of those times! :-) Have a great week, if you're up all night want to do some reading and brief me? lol
Love those water pictures, Dawn. They are so melancholic. Wonderful! And pour a glass of wine for me, if you please!
Being able to wake-up in the morning is something not to be taken for granted. And i love those imgaes that help drive home that fact. Richard
Very gorgeous shots Dawn! You're right, the pictures worth more than thousands words. I'm looking forward to see sunrise tomorrow and after tomorrow and again and again ;)
Thank you for taking us with you and allowing us to glory in the glory too.
Magical...enjoy these golden moments...the winter will soon be there.
beautiful!
Seriously, how can you do this to me! What is the correct word for way way way beyond jealous?
Good wine that makes you stay awake even longer? I'll have me a case of that:-)
