characters

Some stand tall and proud.

Some like to hide behind things.
Would rather not be seen.

Some like to blend in with their surroundings and don't mind so much if they go unnoticed.

Some like to stand out.
Baring their true colors whether the colors are liked or not.

Some are pleasant.
Some we find hard to like.
Some we love- others.....not so much.

Some just simply annoy.

And there are some we think we just couldn't do without.

Characters.
{The world is full of them.}

Okay, I'm thinking you should publish a book maybe. Because these are things I would totally read and enjoy over and over. I guess I still can on your blog, but it would be cool to keep them all on my coffee table. You have a way with pictures, provoking thoughts, and honesty.

Such a great comparison with the photos and words. Barns are true characters with personality and depth.

Anthropomorphizing barns? Oh, you are good! I never thought of them as "characters" but I guess some have a lot of character and some less so.

Wait! You were using barns analogously?

Representative of human characters...?

I think you're way beyond my mental abilities. :-)

I also think I like the barns with character better than I like some of the characters called humans that I run into from time to time!

Lovely photos!

You sure have a way with words (and pictures!).

Yes, characters - the world sure is full of them. I find myself more open to all characters the older I get, but I still have my days where some people just plain bug me...

...and I'm sure there are days when I surely bug some people.

When you decided to come to The Villages and jump in the fountain to "spice up" the day, please let me know so I can bring my camera to record the event! I'll bet you would spice things up nicely, too!

Clever you.. such a cute post. I love the faces on the first two.

Ok Dawn, I'm all caught up again on the posts I missed while travelling (and trying to endure this painful internet speed :(

Wonderful, seeing these barn shots and your characterizations of them. And those spring shots with the cautious and not-so-cautious as well as playing in the first-mud-of-spring (a boy's prerogative !). Those snow melting shots sure take me back to our years in Alberta !!

Great posts.

Yes, the many characters of lives or in our lives. I think after 40, I have come to accept them all for just the way they are, whether they annoy me or not. :)
