Humans tend to shy away from the hiccups of life.
Trials are deemed unnecessary annoyances that get in our way of truly living.
Reality is: life is most often not a piece of cake or a walk in the park.
But....
What if~ the valleys of life were considered as springboards to mount the hills?
What if~ the trials faced each day, were seen as a fertilizer for growth?
What if~ instead of lamenting the problems and wishing they didn't exist- they could be embraced as stepping stones to get to who you actually were intended to be?
What If~ (and I almost hesitate to ask)....one could almost be grateful to them?
So that at the end of the day~ regardless of the hardships
or valleys
or annoyances.....
we could still call our day golden?
Just one day closer in getting to who we were actually meant to be.

Wonderful pictures as usual.. Life is a roller coaster ~ peaks and valleys.. But with God's help it makes life easier..
Great post today~!
Have a Tiggieriffic day,,ta ta for now from Iowa:)
Love this!
love it! totally true!! every challenge can make us stronger and a better person if we allow it! :)
mmmmm I love this post Dawn
the ebb and flow
shifting and shaping of life is what makes it the amazing mystery that it is...the amazing adventure
oh how I loved your words here...beautiful and true....
just like you ♥
love and light
hope your weekend was a good one!
A much better way to look at life's 'obstacles' than whining (although I hope those top 2 shots weren't made TODAY! I mean, enuff is enuff, right ?).
We're all still works in progress - thank goodness !
Have a wonderful week.
Wonderful motivational words and images ... thanks !
Lovely post Dawn. My husband has a saying "stress and worry is something you smear on your toast every morning"
What a marvelous post!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
And I love the second photo. well, I love them all actually!
it really couldn't work. If it wasn't for the truly bad days then we couldn't truly appreciate the good days.
...and in the end, it isn't going to matter at all.
Another insightful post Dawn, I hope to be learning for many years to come. Life is learning and choices, the older we get I believe that most of us make a wee bit wiser choices. Life is amazing and there's nothing like living with an attitude of gratitude, my heart dances when I realize just how much I have to be grateful for!
Awesome photos, I especially love the second one. Without snow being disrupted it looks beautiful. Enjoy your day!
In-spir-rational post with photos to boot. Good one.
Life is what happens while we are waiting to be who we want to be.
Truth is, we are who we are right now -- and will be tomorrow as well.
Good food for thought. :)
Dawn Oh I like this it is so true. I think that every time something negative happens it always has a positive even if we do not see it for awhile. Everything for a reason, be it lessons learned, new opportunities or the chance to change.I love the way you put it great photos. B
Good thoughts Dawn. We tend to easily forget how blessed we are.
Ah yes... I know you're right, Dawn. But sometimes, I CHAFE! :(
Nice thoughts Dawn, though I'd much rather be climbing physical hills than the metaphoric ones!
:)
i think those down times and valleys are character builders for sure - once we get thru them, we earn lines on our face to remember them by...
Great what ifs. I wish more people could turn things over like that.
great post...great photos...
Dawn,
I truly enjoyed this and I do have to say, I share in the joy of the obstacles. My childhood was extremely traumatic and although I wish it had been different and 'better', I appreiciate that it was all of those circumstances that has built my heart into the empathetic and compassionate person I am. This allows me to teach my children with special needs with great loving...
so great post!
"No pain no gain" is a good way to sum this up. Trials in our lives do make us stronger. I find that tribulations allow us to experience the grace of God in our lives.
We would have no character, if not for the trials that shape it! I was SO happy to see your comment. Glad you got it worked out. Yay! :)
Beautiful sentiments, Dawn.. those we should all embrace.
Wonderful thoughts! What a great writer you are!!
Lovely thoughts. I love the pictures.
wow! thought provoking post and powerful message, Dawn!
our enemies (trials) are just as important as the opposite.
LOVE these thoughts Dawn :) So great to see it as building charater :)
reminds me of the saying, that which does not kill you, makes you stronger.
wonderful post...
Wow, what amazing photo's, with some lovely colours&textures. I love the little speech you have with them too! Really gives people something to relate to. (:
love your train of thought, your photos and this post! what if... and yet, it's so easy if we don't let our minds get in the way. why does that seem so hard sometimes?
Very nicely done.
Thought proviking series! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Beautiful! I love the idea of a springboard. A few years ago I had a sunday school teacher who always said "it's in the valleys we grow". I certainly agree, although some days it may be difficult to like. Lovely (and that sunset photo is amazing)!
A great way to look at life. And wonderful photos to go with your post.
I like your positive attitude!
Great thoughts, Dawn. If we could all think this way and look at our trials as ways to strenghten us or propel us toward our goals, we'd have more positive attitudes and feel better about life in general, I think.
You know, at one of my lowest points, my dad reminded me that we can't appreciate the highs, without the lows. I've never forgotten that. This post is bang on!
~Andrea~
Very deep and I love it!!!
Very nice, Dawn, but I still prefer that the other guys deal with the bumps. I kinda like smooth sailing.
I just stumbled upon your blog. Great thoughts and photography. Just with regards to this post: Will we ever get there? I mean, will we ever be the person we are meant to be? I'm suspecting, no matter how many bumps we master, we will take a life time to just get as close as possible...
You think?
Ahh, I love "what ifs"!
Wonderful wonderful post! I love your attitude - and your photos!
Great post and congrats on you POTW!
Lovely photos and thought inspiring prose. Congrats on your POTW.
Great perspective! I really need to work on this!
Beautiful photos. You have a great eye for a good shot.
Sydney - City and Suburbs
yes, to stay steady under pressure, to even be enthusiastic, to not get lost in doubt, to be the one to let the sun shine, is that who we were meant to be?,,,M
It so nice to see anyone embrace life. Wonderful post .
I came over from Hilarys mentions of the week.
Happy Easter.
I live in Alberta.
love your thoughts [and pictures of course]. Gorgeous sunset at the end! Have you heard the song "Blessings" by Laura Story? It has a similar message.... it's my new favorite!
