When spring hesitates....

.....I can't help but go with store bought.

All along knowing very well,
that if I just had patience.....

...I could have saved myself a whole LOT of money and would have eventually
found the real thing
hanging right outside my window.

{When will I learn that thing called patience?}

I'm the same way sometimes. It sure feels good to see those buds starting to pop out.

There comes a certain point in our gray, muddy early spring when I simply have to have some bloom. If it makes your heart happy and your step lighter, I say it's money well spent :)

Ohh, pussy willows!

i am the same way, fresh flowers in the house is a must. all winter i purchased flowers at the food mart and was so surprised at how fresh they were and how long they lasted. and at a much better price.

now i am overwhelmed with what my gardens are giving me. i have tulips, daffodils and lilacs all over the house. so worth the wait!!!!

I think, it would be easier to have patience if winter wasn't quite so long!

I got a weeping pussy willow to put in this year. I get cut flowers all winter to cheer the house up.

How we have to wait on Spring! It will be here with summer soon...

Dawn, I'll help you justify this... you're just encouraging spring along by adding some much needed color into your daily life. This is very therapeutic for you after seeing the drab, gray colors all year long. Your mood will undoubtedly improve with the fresh scents trickling throughout the house, your heightened sense of spring will improve your moods and the house will run much smoother. I say just enjoy the fresh flowers and don't worry about patience... that's another lesson for another day! lol

You can have both, Dawn. Store bought and natural. No harm done.

We all need fresh flowers around us,store bought or not!Hope spring doesn't wait around too much longer!

I was picking up some inexpensive bouquets at my grocery store to lift my winter doldrums, until the prices started shooting up -- that curbed my enthusiasm pretty quickly. It won't be long now, Dawn. :)

Oh well sometimes just for the state of mind you need flowers to look at. They just make life seem so nice.

great photos...patience is a hard virtue...

Yes, but I think the store bought ones were worth it. Lovely! Can't wait to see the ones outside when they bloom. Spring is coming your way! :)

LBB said...

I have no patience either. We have blooms growing here, but its so rainy & dark the last few days I also bought a bouquet to have inside :)

never justify the purchase of flowers.
;o)

Haha. We constantly have flowers around the house. But yes, patience is a virtue. You'll have flowers blossoming there before you know it! (:

It's lovely, either way. Having fresh flowers around cheers everyone.

That's cheating!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

I think patience is over rated. I mean, the only people who need a lot of patients are doctors. Right?

And, you're supposed to stop and smell the flowers. How can you do that if spring is late and there are no flowers? You can't. You must, therefore, for your own health and well-being, hie thyself to a store which sells said flowers and immerse thyself in their aroma and beauty!

Here endeth the sermon!

Lovely as always, real or not. Some women can fake it and it is still well worth it in the end !!

When will we all learn that thing called patience. We have been raised in an era of instant gratification as well as instant satisfaction. I love your posts Dawn, they always make me think.

Sometimes you just need that bit of spring in the house to keep your mind on the season :)

You not alone, I did the same thing a few weeks ago. The next day there was color everywhere.

Great colour to brighten your day indoors, and then a wonderful sign-of-spring find outdoors.

Patience ? All about timing !

I've done that too, hey I used to live ;O0in Manitoba so I know how long winter can be.

Ah... THAT thing! Wish I could help you with that. I'm trying to harness it myself. Waiting for a house... waiting for news about a house... waiting, waiting, waiting.

If the little furry tails are blossoming on your branches, then spring is just around the corner. Crossing fingers with you!!!

:D

Nothing wrong with store bought once in a while to get us through...They sure cheer me up.

Alli said...

I'm the same way too. :) With an apartment, I have no garden so unless I'm stealing flowers from someone else I pretty much have to go store bought (or farm market!). Lovely flowers.

Lowell said...

Ah...I spoke to the person who cleaned that floor in Orlando about doing your floors. She said she'd have to get a certificate of inspection first. You know, to see if your floors were salvageable!

Nah, I'm just kidding. I'm sure your floors are fine.

Have a great day in the northlands!

Considering where you live, I think you can allow yourself a bit of impatience, waiting for spring. I love, love the last two pictures, they remind me of spring in Sweden.--Inger
