Sister Style

My sister talked me into buying these sets of music from an Antique Store.
The cover fronts were in perfect condition, and she informed me they would look perfect framed and
up on my wall.

It's beyond me how she has an eye for what doesn't even exist yet.
She can design a room, decorate, pick out fabric for a project- all before I even know what it is we're working on.
(Remember The Desk?)

I do NOT have a gift in the Design/Decorator/Craft area.
At all.
Guess that's why she's MY sister:)

The other day she called me up and asked me to save all my tin cans for her.
After I gave her a bag, she sent me this photo:

She painted the cans, drilled holes, strung them on a set of lights~and her house
looks like a Gingerbread Home.
She is constantly re-finishing, re-doing, re-creating, planning, scheming.....
she just has so many ideas!

For some reason I can't see her tin can lights, but the framed music is pretty darn brilliant! I see "the good eye" definitely runs in the family - for her it may be home decor; for you definitely in photos! :)

Some folks are born with the gift of artistic vision. Others? Well, I'm still struggling with stick figures, so I'm out :)

I could hang out on that porch, writing and chatting, for time immemorial. She's definitely otherworldly in her ability to make it real. Then again, so are you! Clearly some historically great upbringing in your family.

I love the framed music. My chiropractor has framed record covers from the 1960s and '70s on his wall. Too cool, I think I want to copy that idea. You are so lucky to have a sister with an eye for design.--Inger

I admire people who have the ability to see things that aren't yet - and can make them reality ! Amazingly creative. And you're no slouch in the creativity department yourself, Dawn - your photos and posts are great evidence of that !

Um - why on earth would you say you don't have your sister's ability? Your blogs are more than creative! Your pictures, the thought processes behind your words -- you are most definitely creative!

That is amazing, I am not like that either and the music looks wonderful framed. So does her porch. I wish I could be that way. So glad you shared.

I spent a couple hours on Monday sorting through old sheet music and have a foot-tall stack weeded out to go to recycling. How I have to rethink this! Love the barn dance one.

those are great framed and hung on the wall! i know what you mean, i have no eye for stuff like that or for decorating/room arranging. i get all that from my stepdaughter! she just helped me rearrange the living room and it finally feels like home (we've been here 7 years!).

The artwork is so cute on those songbooks. What a great find! I think I'm like your sister in that I can see things and think about what I can do with them... it's a gift. Haha!

Very artsy..I like this. And that desk!!! Good grief..who has talent like that? One of my friends here is constantly sanding down old furniature and making beautiful pieces. I'm always just a tiny bit jealous of how good they turn out!! :D

What a pretty house your sister has, too.

I love your sisters home, it's a true home which emits beauty and warmth. I enlarged the photo to take a better look at what she did with the tin cans, that's brilliant!

I went back to take a look at the desk, more brilliance and the pictures are awesome! What a blessing to have a sister who is so gifted and talented, this must run in the family. You're say so much through your photos, there's so many of them that don't need a caption as they speak volumes. Even with your word choice you connect everything like it's nothing.

Have a fantastic day/evening. I'm going out to shovel for the 3rd time today... yuck!
