most like me

I truly love my times spent with others.

I also appreciate the times I'm able to slip away....
where I'm not bothered by another soul.

And the times I'm in the spotlight? ~~ I like that too.
{As long as I'm not there unwillingly.
Like when I fall down some stairs or slip on ice or say the wrong thing at the wrong time......}

If I had to choose though?

I like it here best.
It wouldn't matter if I was alone or not ~
being in the spotlight wouldn't make a difference.
This is where I truly feel like me.

{Hiking days are coming 'round the corner...}

I feel most at home when I'm within nature, particularly the beach...Alone of with my family; not really a large group sort!
Nice post Dawn...

Two places: in the kitchen, and in the garden. I forget everything and become whatever I'm doing.

your mother's day in gonna rock!!

i really like some time to myself to get my thoughts and emotions in order...so hard to sift through all of that with three little ones whom i never get a break from...not complaining, just sayin'.

i love to be around my family.

have a great day =)

I love to be anywhere in nature, like the mountains, or the forrest, and if I can't go there, I love to be in the garden.

Great pictures, especially the last one. I feel most like me when I'm running alone, at 4:30 in the morning, no one around, no phone, no computer, just my alone time.

I feel most like me when I am high up on the side of the Connecticut State Capitol. (Thx for visiting today!!!)

I have to admit, there are two place I find most comfortable...alone at my computer and behind my camera.

They both allow me to be me.

That's easy - behind a piano.
The moss on those trees is gorgeous. Can't wait to hear about your hiking extravaganzas and the incredible insight you collect from each experience!

Hiking in a mellow, mature wood sounds perfect.

Without a doubt sitting and watching chickens or sitting and watching the wind blow or sitting and watching babies. Notice how I said sitting a lot. Most of the time I am running and not for sport so sitting gives me time to reflect.
I love that you are getting ready to do hikes.

I think we need some of both ... some time alone, some with others. I feel sorry for people who can't stand to be alone.

Most like me..messing around my yard and woods, or deep in the woods on a hike.

I'm happy to report that I can feel at home almost anywhere. I love nature most of all though.
Last Friday (before the police drama at our house), we had just returned from 4 days up in the mountains. While we were up there,we did a little stint on the pacific crest trail. We weren't prepared, so we didn't go too far... Hope you are having a good week!

I agree - being out in the woods with my dog is the best place to be!

Same as you... alone in the great outdoors. Or, sitting in my place on the couch, where I have neatly installed knitting, a place to set a glass of wine and hubby on the other end.

Your picture is wonderful... it makes me dream. xo

I love your last photo Dawn, so laid back... real country style! I'm thinking about where I'm most like me, I'm a Gemini so does that mean I get to pick two places? lol One is out at the farm playing in the dirt the other is when I'm with my adult children, I can totally 100% be me... after all I'm the Mom and get to be or do whatever I choose. Being a mother gives us that inherent right don't you think? ;-)

Dawn,
I totally get what you're saying. When I'm out on the trail, everything just "feels right." I have a hike just out of town that I call my "attitude adjustment." If I'm feeling upset, a good walk there will almost always make me feel better.
Happy weekend to you!

I just like to be outdoors, and enjoy basking in the sun daydreaming.

Interesting post...I'm at the age where alone is not lonely, and it's where I most like to be, with the qualification that "alone" includes my wife of 54 years!

You might want to consider new boots before you do too much hiking! :-)

Dawn-- Just "Breathing" is good-esp. after a health scare.....-but breathing any fresh air outside the big cities, and especially that Salty Beach air! It just heals everything in the Body, Spirit and Soul!

Great question!

Hiking sounds like so much fun. It's something we rarely do, but I wish we did more of. I'm not big on the spotlight--unless it's just a group of close friends. I get too nervous! :)

Love it! This week I've had a little extra time on my hands and I've been making cards and crafting. I'm remembering how happy I am when I get to be creative. I dunno if that's when I feel the most like me, but it's a definite way to express myself and feel free to be me. :)
