If only it could talk.....

In
Lake Havasu, Arizona

I found the

 ~London Bridge~

A man named

Robert P. McCulloch bought the bridge

and had it transported in pieces to Lake Havasu City...a city he founded.

When Robert was asked by customs what it was he was transporting
his reply was;

"one antique".

Each piece was numbered before dismantling,

 and then reconstructed by number when it was rebuilt.

First built in 1831....to span the River Thames in London.

Dismantled in 1967,

 then rebuilt and finished by 1971.

It now spans the Bridgewater Channel Canal.

If this bridge could talk, I wonder just what it would say.

People have crossed on hurried feet.

Wars have waged and the flash of lights have reflected on the stone.

 Hearts have been captured and then broken along its edges.

Does it find people to be different from one place to another?

Do times change who we are and what we do?

I can only imagine the things this bridge has seen.

What has crossed over it....
or floated beneath it.

If only it could talk.

Curiosity...

Some say that Curiosity killed the cat.

~I think the cat is stronger in the
end because of it.~

Curiosity can often be considered
an annoyance, a type of "nosy."

~I think this is how you stay on
top of your game.~

~~~If you stop being Curious...
learning would come to a standstill.~~~
The Curious (much to other's dismay;)
often seem to get ahead in life.
And in most situations that isn't such
a bad thing at all.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.

out of proportion

Is it me....
or does anyone else tend to blow things out of proportion?

It's just....
some things seem a bit strange.

(And then things start to bug me and people around me think I'm going crazy.
But I'm SURE what I'm thinking is right.
Sure of it.)

Or am I looking at things all wrong?
Just blowing things out of proportion...
...again.

Who knows.
It's Monday after all.

Have a good day....
regardless of how you're seeing things;))

Real Life Adventure

(Photo taken by a friend during our recent adventure to Florida/Caribbean)

Don't you wish you knew what would happen if you chose a particular path....
Before you took it?~~

Wouldn't it be nice to know what the outcome would be....
Before it happened?~~

Then again...it wouldn't be real life.

And how much adventure would there be in
that?

taking the good with the whiskers

For Pete's Sake!

Why would a cow be in need of something that some of us girls dream of?
(and I know many males who lucked out as well!)

Look at the eyes and lashes on this fella!

Then again....along with the beautiful lashes~

it looks as though he also has to carry off a very large nose full of whiskers and ears full of hair!

I'll be happy for what I have,
Thank You.
:)

(Many thanks goes out to 'Red'....our model for this post.
'Red' also works during the day, as my son's 4H steer project.)

the Grand Scheme

When an issue seems rather large,
 do you ever stop and wonder:

"Is it really going matter in the grand scheme of things?"

City Trip~ and Life's Riddle

A Trip to the City puts my Country Life {and other things}
in Perspective.

~~~~~~~
And then I get to where I was wishing to be.
And I look around.
And It's a scary place to be.
When you see where you came from~~~
and where you are now {once the wish is granted.}
Then you begin to wish you would have been content in
the first place.
Seeing where you Used to be, and realizing where you now are, makes you think it wasn't so bad at the start.
Feels good to get back down to earth and remember that you actually DO belong where you started.
Give Way
~yield~
~concede~
~consent~
~agree~
~grant~
~allow~
~relinquish~
~submit~
~surrender~
~give place~
~So I'm curious.
Just when is it that you 'Give Way'?
When do you stop thinking that it's 'your way or the highway'?
When do you bend, and just when do you stand firm?
When is it you say "enough is enough" and "forget it"?
And then there's this:
 just when do you decide that it doesn't really matter....and you give it up so that Giving Way isn't even an issue?
Just curious.~
