"About Yourself"~ Blog Award

Thank you....

I have recently  been given this award from Flora over at

I am supposed to pass it on to 15 other bloggers, but as I don't know if I can pick just 15....
I hereby pass this Award on to all of my fellow bloggers!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I guess my 7 Things About Me would read like this:
1.   I love being outdoors more than indoors.
Even as I write this, I am sitting in a chair outside the front door, while my kiddos are sitting warm inside. It's just so beautiful out....with the moon shining down and all;)
I often wonder how I came to live in such a cold place, when I know there are places in the world where I could live outdoors all year round. My family knows if I haven't been outside during the day--(sadly)- by my attitude.
2.   I love all food...but Spicy Hot Food of any kind is my ultimate choice.
Foods that make my eyes water and feel like I'm choking? The Best.
3.   I have the 4 most wonderful kiddos in the world....a boy, girl, boy, boy.
My oldest just turned 17, which is strange because I swear I am only 23!  I was in labor for 39.5 hours with him before they FINALLY decided to do a c-section. All the others were born that way too. Not my first choice, but I'm here to blog because I had them that way:)
4.   My Bucket List is long and ever-growing.
My top 5 things on the list of many:   To do full Ironman, a bike trip across Italy, to run a Marathon in Greece, learn to scuba dive, and to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.
5.   Coming home from a trip- I don't usually sleep unless I unpack and start laundry.
It drives me insane to go to bed with suitcases at the door...unless it's a suitcase at the door waiting to leave somewhere. Somewhere warm. :)
6.    Something I DESPISE about me...I'm indecisive. And fearful.
I see the 2 often going hand in hand. I am fearful, weigh the options, my fear adds more options, thus I cannot decide. I am trying to conquer this...but it's a hard thing to battle. I can't decide just how to go about doing it...;)
7.   I would rather clean a bathroom than cook (or even be in a kitchen)!
I have often dreamed of hiring a cook...or exchanging cleaning for cooking with someone. I cannot STAND cooking!!! Give me a house to clean any day, and I'd be happy to hire a (cute) chef!
(Proof of #6.
This was a glass floor in a city building that you could walk on.
It took me forever to decide to walk (or in my case- crawl) on to it.
My heart raced the entire time.
I don't know if I would do it again. Fear of heights and all....
guess I would have to decide if I ever go back.  ;D)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Well.....if you're still here- thanks for reading. I could add probably a 100 more things to this list- NOT because I'm interesting...just because I like to ramble. (I guess that would be #8.) :D

Now grab the award and tell me 7 things about you!

I am exactly like you with the unpacking and laundry,
when I come home from holiday
I just want it all done.

Likewise before I go I clean the house from top to bottom, changing bed linen etc!!!

Like your bucket list and it has been wonderful learing about you.

I don't really like cooking either!!!

you're too damn cute, dawn! :) or wait, maybe not! sorry, indecisive all of a sudden! ha!

i'd rather cook than clean. but i'd prefer not to have to do much of either. and as for living someplace warmer, there is such a thing as being TOO warm where you end up having to spend time inside to avoid scorching heat... sigh...

i hate to cook, i love to bake and i don't mind cleaning either. i would LOVE to have my own personal chef as i do enjoy eating ;)))

Wow Dawn I am so impressed you tried that glass floor at all way to go.
I am a lot like you would rather be outside than in, preferably in the bush or some where in the wilderness. Love to eat and sometimes cook. I always unpack too. I have two girls but most who read my blog know almost everything about me.
Thanks for sharing the award. I love knowing more about you and I would love to have a coffee and chat with you someday. Could happen at least I would not need a passport. :) B

that was fun...I don't enjoy cooking either...glad my hubby likes too...

Congratulations, Dawn! Your award is well deserved!

I would much rather cook than clean since I can actually eat the end result of my cooking and I'm not half bad at it. I do plenty of cleaning, though, too.

I can relate to your photo...I'm not a big fan of heights, but I like that slight twinge of fear and then doing it, anyway.

Congrats, again!

I am also a lot like you too. I love to be outside at the ocean I am so envious of Debbie she only lives 10 minutes away.I clean the house before we go away I don't want to come home to a house in disarray. Like (Buttons) most of you who read my blog know almost everything about me. I would have been crawling on the glass sidewalk if I even got on at all. Kudos Dawn

We have a lot in common. My husband asked the other day if I miss cooking when he's gone. Haha. I cracked up. I only cook because I like to eat. That simple.

And that pic of you is just like something I would do. That would scare the life out of me!

My favorite is #2. Sounds like my hubby, especially the choking part!

We share several things--love of the outdoors, spicy food (but I like to cook it, too), and getting the suitcase unpacked. I also want to climb Kilmanjaro and I can scuba dive. BUT, I love to cook (a lot more fun than cleaning the bathroom!). Congratulations on your award and for sharing more about yourself.

I do the same when we get home from a trip. All the luggage rolls into the house, gets unpacked, and laundry is accomplished!

Jack said...

Congratulations on the award. I would not have guessed the characterization as indecisive. You seem like a Go For The Gusto kind of girl, and that seems incompatible with being a wuss. (I also empty the suitcases and do the laundry as I am entering the house . . . ridiculous, but I have to do it!)

Do it... the scuba diving! It's amazing. Truly a totally different world down there.

I love the picture of you crawling. I would so be crawling too.
I love learning all of these things about you.
Now, I see you as brave and never afraid of anything.
I like that you like outside. I was laughing about when kids would come to visit our kids they complained that their Mom made them go outside. I still think anyone can get well if they can get outside in the fresh air.
I would die if I couldn't go outside every single day.
Congrats on winning the award!

That pick of you crawling onto the glass in your high heels is just too darn cute Dawn! Congrats on winning the award! Hope you can be outside today!

Love this list, Dawn! I have four kids too, and just the opposite as you: girl, boy, girl, girl. :D SO Sorry about those deliveries. Ugh.
1,5,6,7 are all the same for me, too, but 4 is the reason why I don't look as cute in those jeans as you do! :D

Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself, and WHAT? You don't like to cook? lol Just razzing you, I love to cook but just don't do much of it lately, I'm too busy.

I copied the award when time permits I'll do up one of these, see where I'm at in terms of bravery for sharing a piece of myself, yup bring it on! ;-)

Have a great day and there's not a hope in hell I'd be on that glass with you... no sireeee.

Great list! I can't sleep with packed suitcases either. My husband, on the other hand, will leave his unpacked for weeks...

This is a great way to get to know you. Wouldn't life be exciting if we could turn off things like fear when we know we don't need it.

Numbers 1 and 2 - get yourself to South East Asia. You will think you've died and gone to heaven...

Number 5 - I'm right there with you:-)

Number 4 - if you ever do make that Italy trip, I know a very photogenic old village, wedged peacefully between the sea and the mountains...:-)
